John Holly's little sister: Little Holly's -- http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/17/213142/restaurant/Denver/Highlands-Ranch/Little-Hollys-Littleton

Very tasty. Not as expensive as John Holly's, but expensive enough.

If you want a sit-down, uppitty place- go to John Holly's.
If you want a take-out, or low-key place- go to Little Holly's.

Had Little Holly's last night. Good food, and Little Holly's actually delivers in Highlands Ranch FTW!

Yazoo Bbq: http://www.yazoobbq.com/

I've now eaten at both the Downtown and Greenwood Village locations. Both are comparibe, though it should be noted that Downtown does not offer French Fries (looks at Shadow). Also, Greenwood Village offers fried pickles and green beans, which I don't recall seeing at the Downtown location. That said, the green beans were pickled and nasty.

I prefer the "Bob", which is smoked chicken chunks wrapped in bacon. The rib tips are decent, but I suppose I'm not a fan of the tip:mellow: Just too fatty.

They offer a variety of sauces. None of which are out of this world, but the wide selection should be acknowledged.

Rice: http://www.ricebistrodenver.com/

This place was pretty good. I imagine that anything you order would be tasty. I had two different chicken dishes and liked them both.

To sum it up-- it's better than PF Changs, but IMO not as good as John Holly's. They do offer sushi, but I don't eat sushi...so I can't comment.

Finally tried Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill (http://www.eatgarbanzo.com/). Friends and family have raved about it but I was not a fan. I got the Steak Shwarma plate with yellow seasoned rice, vegetable salad (pretty much just chopped onions and tomatoes with other spices), tabuleh (cold couscous with chopped cucumbers and cilantro), and a small amount of hummus with one free sample chip. I was also given a free sample falafel that was ok, and a free sample of their lemon chicken & orzo soup, which was ok also, but I wouldn't buy a bowl of it. I would buy more falafels if I go again, which is unlikely.

The steak and rice were a good combination. The steak was heavily seasoned with a bit too much cilantro for my taste, but was still good. The hummus was super bland to the point where you could tell you were eating something, but no way to know what it was. This could be just my uncultured tongue though as it was my first time eating hummus.

"My uncultured tongue" could probably sum up my entire experience with the place. I'm not a huge fan of tons and tons of vegetables like onions and cucumbers. I like them in small doses, just don't like them to be the majority of my meal. I went with my boss and he was being all elitist about the place saying "it's healthy food and your body doesn't know what to do with it." I'm sorry but there's plenty of healthy food out there that I like and eat on a regular basis. This just isn't it.

If you love vegetables, especially cucumbers and onions, and most of your food being cold, and a ton of garlic and cilantro on everything, then give the place a try. Like I said, a lot of my friends and family love it, it's just not for me.

I too have had Garbanzo's and I concur....meh. Their falafel sample was the most enjoyable part for me. I will not be returning.

That said, Saj.

If you are still on the quest for a good burger, check out Japoix in Denver. It was pretty decent, but you need the mouth of monica lewinski to get your mouth around it. I would also recommend the duck wontons and kobe beef bao bun sliders. My little lady friend had the Lobster BLT and rock shrimp tempura. If that wasnt enough to convince you, they have hot waitresses that are all new age and trendy lookin.

I forgot to update this when I had an AWESOME burger last week. I was even thinking about posting this when I ate it.

Big Al's Burgers and Dogs in Old Town Fort Collins. All I should have to say is their signature burger is a 60% chuck, 40% smoked bacon burger patty. Enough said. I sampled the Guacamole Bacon cheeseburger and my wife had the Shroom N Cheese burger.

The burger was cooked perfectly, the guac was fresh and tasty, but the best part was the bacon! It was smoked, thick cut, and then chipped up into pieces and generously piled on the burger. Breaking it up into pieces means you get a good mouthful of bacon in every bite.

I got a side of fries that were OK, not the best, but pretty good. Thin straw style and heavily seasoned.

The vibe is distinctly old school and laid back. Prices are exceptional for the quality of burger you're getting. Seriously this was probably the best burger I've had in a long, long time.

I'm heading back this weekend to sample a different burger and a dog as well.

Finally made it to Joe's Crab Shack. Was my first time going there and we were pretty happy with our meal. My wife isn't a fan of seafood so she got the Chipotle BBQ Bacon Burger and she said it's one of the best burgers she's ever had. And that's saying something because she loves burgers and has sampled them from just about every restaurant we've ever gone to.

I had the fried shrimp with fries and cole slaw. The shrimp was very good. Light, crispy breading and good flavor. The fries were also very good, though a little over-salted. The cole slaw was so-so. A bit too vinegary for my taste, but that's how cole slaw goes. Different people like it different ways.

We also tried some mozzarella sticks and an order of hush puppies. The mozzarella sticks weren't anything special. They might have been frozen and just heated up, I don't know. The cheese wasn't very melty which is always annoying. The hush puppies were alright but there were chunks of corn in the cornmeal and it was just a bit too "corny."

The waitress was extremely friendly but without being overbearing and we left her a large tip. The table next to us had a 38 yr old military guy with a birthday. They made him put on a fake dress and say "I'm a pretty, pretty princess" after every line of singing Happy Birthday. I don't know whose idea it was but it seemed pretty harsh and I would be pretty pissed if my family did that to me. But he was a good sport about it. It was amusing since we weren't the focus.

Overall we had a great experience and will definitely go back. I want to try the crab cake sandwich next time.

Not sure I have the skills of Lewinsky, but I'll make not of said burger joint.

Interesting. I actually hail from Ft.Collins, but don't recall Big Al's. I rarely get up North; actually, never. Sounds like a great recipe for a coronary though, ha ha.

Nice review Erod. I'm surprised that you'd go back. I've had Joe's about half a dozen times, from various locations and each time was...meh. Not terrible, but really nothing outstanding about it either.

oh i almost forgot! if you are into crawfish boils you must check out the red claw on federal. Some of the best seafood in this landlocked state. Makes joe's crab shack taste tv dinners. A big must is also the fish sauce wings. SOunds different, but different is definately good in this case. Oh and the soft shell crab....man i miss that place. They also have beer for 2 bucks a bottle. For 2 people to literally get fat and happy, expect to spend 40-70bucks. My check usually runs 50 after tip and im stuffed as well as the mrs.
