SRT-4's scare me!!! they're almost like wrx's in that u put an exhaust on one and they don't sound any different than one thats modded to the tilt! Those suckers can be wicked fast and you not even know it! I usually steer clear of those, unless I know what I'm up against, then its usually some puck ass kid who doesn't know wtf he's doing and thinks his car is all quick and u walk on him in an "old man car" as ppl I know refer to my car as hehe.

I don't like hearing those kind of stories.
I am coming from an SRT-4 to a Speed3. They do respond very well to turbo upgrades though. I was beating STis, Evos, Mustang GTs, Z28s on the highway with just TBE, stage 1 computer, and upgraded wastegate actuator which raised the boost a little. Throw a 50 trim on there with supporting mods and you've got yourself a serious beast from a roll and probably less than 5k total in mods. I never wanted to go that big though. I wanted reliability since it was my daily driver and it was definitely reliable. Never had any serious problems with it at all.

Your car is not an old man car! I get so irritated when people say that! Just put them in the passenger seat and take them for a spin around the block... that will shut 'em up.

Was challenged by a Dodge Ram 2 times last night. The first time I just barely pulled on him because it was on the up hill of one of the steep hills on powers. The second time was down hill heading west on woodmen. I pulled on him really good there and I gave him one car length. Both times we quit at about 60mph. I think it was a hemi and less than 5 years old.
He turned off and than a someone in a chevy truck wanted to race but I let them go. One per night is enough for me. They were driving like idiots anyway, about 65-75mph on woodmen.

I ended up taking a different route home, and I came across another turbo car. I could see these blue HID's coming up on me fast and at first I just ignored it. Then the car got beside me and I could see the gauges down the pillar of his srt4. He was pacing me for a while, but I made no move. I didn't end up getting a stoplight, or a break in traffic at all, but I did get a major reality check lol. I was feeling pretty confident with my car, but then while pacing me again at about 60 mph he hit it and holy ***t I have never seen a car move like that. It roasted the tires at 60 mph and put like a bus length on myself and the traffic around me instantly once it got grip. Whats the reality check here? Theres always a bigger fish.
Similar thing happen to me with an SRT-4 except I didn't try and race him (lots of traffic and I knew I would lose). He was pacing me at about 40 and when he hit the gas all I heard was his turbo spooling like a MO FO! After he got traction he almost rear ended the car in front of him because the light ahead of us turned red....
SRT-4 = 1
RX8 = 0 (but I still have my cool points)

Yeah, don't mess with Skittles. You never know what you're up against. And they DO like to challenge people.

Got paced by a Scion TC the other night. The wife was in the car, so I didn't want to scare her, but this guy was being a royal douche, accelerating to 70mph then dropping back even with me, he did that a couple of times before finally getting fed up with trying to goat me. So, he accelerated and cut me off, about 2 feet from my front bumper, so I told my wife sorry and punched it.
I put about 3 bus lengths on him before I got to 80mph. Once he saw what he was really up against, he did a U-turn and went back home to cry. Or at least I hope that's what he did.
As a side note, any of you Ranch people ever notice that the High School kids like to hang out in the Safeway parking lot at HRPKWY and Broadway and wait for cars to challenge? I don't know how many times I have had some retard come screaming out of that parking lot to catch up to me on Broadway in hopes of a race.

The one I saw def had an upgraded turbo to be burning the tires at 60mph. They were aftermarket wheels, so it probably had fatter tires. Someone else on here could probly comment on this but to have the ability to burn em at that speed I'm guessing like 450+ horsepower to the wheels probably more.

I've seen vids of Skittles walking C6 vettes from a roll.
Of course, we'll see how long that guy's engine lasts, if he's roasting tires at that speed.

The Neon SRT-4 motor is pretty tough. They general consensus is they can handle 400whp all day long on stock internals as long as it has a good tune. SRT-4s take a lickin and keep on tickin.
