I just resurfaced the deck... instead of replacing the wood with Trex.

I finally got back on this project over the weekend.

I finished all the demo but actually removing the stairs (will do after I have the stringers built). I moved the 4x4 post you see in the pic. Cut the sheathing and removed the rest of the sheetrock. I spend quite a bit of time doing the math for the stair width so I get everything cut right.

Tonight I will be figuring out where the wall will need to be bumped out to.

That is what's known as a "this weekend" sandwich.

Have fun on the rebuild, looks like a little bit of work's ahead of you. I'll be helping my father in law with his kitchen.

I didn't remove the stairs over the weekend but I did the structure under the stair removed so I have about 6 nails to remove and the stair comes out.

I built all the stringers for the stair to the basement and main level. I also started to prime the risers.
