Made some good progress. We removed the one set of stairs. I installed the new stringers, rebuilt the wall under the stair, reinstalled the electrical, and did a bunch of cleanup. Installing the new stringers was a nightmare because they didn't have anything to hook to. I will post some pics this week. We also started to paint the risers and finished stringers.
This week I will start installing the sheetrock, than the beadboard.

I'm making good progress on this project.
Here are the next two steps I took:

The next step is to paint everything I have installed. Then I will install the newel post and treads.

I am moving slow but that's what it takes when I only work on it one day a week. The risers are pine risers from home depot. The decorative stringers are masonite. I figured pine would be better than something like masonite for the risers since it has the posibility of being kicked.

The pine will be painted white. The treads will be oak stained early american and finished with a high traffic floor finish. The newel posts and hand rails will be natural oak with a tinted finish to make the grain pop. the balusters are square and are painted white.

I didn't get quite as far as I'd hoped. I did get the risers and stringers I installed painted with 2 coats of white and they look great. I also routed the treads and stained them. I still need to seal them, the stain took longer to dry than I thought it would.

Here is my updated Picture:

I have a light sanding and one more coat of sealer to do on the treads. Than I have some painted cove molding to install under the front and side edges of the treads once they are cured. I have to wait a minimum of 3 days before I can use the stairs. I will get the tread santed and sealed tonight.

I'm back on to the stair project again. I installed to risers on the next flight. I plan to really work on this next weekend.
That last pick I posted is way outdated, I'll need to get more up.
