Spring is in the air... Must be, for the first time since I've had the RX-8, I'm getting "challenged", 3 times in the past week. Some Mustang GT that I didn't bother with, someone in an S10 with the offset "racing stripes" (HA!), and last night, by some folks in a BMW 3-something. The girls were yelling "race! race!" out of the windows. I did a spirited first gear run up to the speed limit, and that was the extent of my "race". As soon as I let up, they did too.

Yup, people wanna play. Heck, the other night I actually beat someone off the line when I passed one of the 3 wheel chariot thingys they use downtown to cart people around.

I don't know if it because my car is red but I get challenged daily. For the most part I don't bother, especially off the line. Accept if someone buzzes me on the highway and we get into it. Which is pretty stupid on my part. I got into it with an R8 and damn was he pissed when he made a bad decision and got stuck in traffic.

But yesterday morning in rush hour traffic me and this yuppy prick driving a (in the geek from Fast Furious 1 voice) Hooooonda 2 THOWWWzend hit (way way way over the speed limit, think triple digits) weaving in between cars from 6th to Speer. Yeah that was dumb. I backed off at Speer when I realized how retarded I was being.

I'm too old for that crap.

LOL Its always nice to have the friendly "fun run." My favorite for myself was the morning after picking up my car from MAC. A paper plated 427 Roush Stang on I-25. I looked over he jerked his car and then we both punch it. I walked him quickly and slowed down. He caught up and give me a thumbs up smiling. LOL At least he was cool.

all you need is racing stickers all over the car and a big wing. You will have every civic in town after you.

I've been challenged a few times (Cobalt SS comes to mind), but whenever my wife drives it she gets taunted everyday. She's learned what "fights" to pick ;-)

I've had a few fun plays in the CX7, usually little hondas that don't realize my suv/crossover has a turbo in it. Or last weekend at the hamburger stand the ford focus that wanted to race me down 6th from a roll.

Never get anyone in the jetta, and we ALWAYS get people wanting to race us on the bike. Usually other bikes or a blue evo comes to mind.
