But, to continue the thread: took the evo out Sunday and destroyed two mustangs (04 and a 11). Had the new one been a 5.0, it would have been a different story.
An '11 is a 5.0. If it had the newer body style but a GT badge instead of 5.0 on the fender, it was a '10, and yea, all Mustangs pre-'11 (other than the Terminators) were painfully slow. It's why I had no interest in them until the new 5.0.
As for Evos/STis keeping up with new 5.0s, if you're modded and they're stock, shouldn't be a problem. Stock for stock it's not close though. Even at altitude I dyno'd 305whp uncorrected, while stock Evos/STis dyno in the 220-230 range.
That said, any given race can come down to drivers anyway so that's not to say that only dyno numbers determine races.
