Dining with Tut
Where has my head been lately? I've tried quite a few new eateries around town. So many in fact, that I can't remember half of them.
How about pizza? All of the following are quite good and deserve to be visited.
McKinner's (downtown Littleton) -- www.mckinners.com
Quaint.
Panzano's (Hotel Monaco) -- www.panzano-denver.com
Upscale. Best happy hour in Denver...top shelf booze all around.
Protos (Denver) -- www.protospizza.com
Quality ingredients. Overpriced pitchers.
Parry's Pizza (HR) -- http://www.parryspizza.com/
Constantly changing beer selection. Pizza is surprisingly good, much better than I imagined it would be.

Edit: Service at Protos has always been top notch. Very attentive staff.

Super-busy...jam packed. This seems to be the norm. That said, there were at least 20 parties in front of us, and we were in a seat in 15-20min...not bad. Our server was good. Gave us a sufficient amount of time to consume the chips and salsa, w/o hounding us for our order. Food came out promptly.
I sampled all the staples...burrito, chile relleno, beans, rice...but,,, I did miss the ever-elusive hard shell taco. Next time. The cuisine is flavorful, without being overbearing. A nice warmth, without being spicy. It didn't appear to be super-lardy...though I'm not ruling out the obvious fact that Mexican food is horrible for you. Post-meal sopapilla was also quite acceptable.
To sum it up: Not blow your socks off good, but a strong good with no apparent negatives to speak of.
There is free parking (which is a plus) but the lot is miniature....be advised.
I shall add Benny's to 'the list' of go-to's.

-to's.
Benny's is always busy. Finding parking in that area on a Thur/Fri/Sat is tough. We used to frequent Benny's and Gov's quite a bit!

Rib City: http://www.ribcity.com/rc/index.php
Atmosphere: thumbs down. Full of families and the older crowd. Drab. A quick look at the clientele proves that there are no healthy options to choose from.
Menu/portions: Good for the price. For $14, I got a fair amount of food-- half rack of baby's, smoked turkey, two sides, and bread.
Food: Everything is laden with fat (as expected, it IS bbq). The ribs were fairly moist...I've had moister and more 'fall off the bone' before, but they were better than say...Outback's ribs. Their sauces were okay. Beans were pretty good (had better).
Overall, it was just ok. Nothing outstanding and I won't be going back. Not because the ribs, or food in general, was bad- necessarily. It just wasn't good enough to make me come back. I feel like I'm going to have a coronary.

Cafe Byblos Mediterranean / Greek - http://www.facebook.com/CafeByblosMediterraneanGrill
This place ROCKS! Just came back from there for lunch and it's my 3rd time there, the restaurant is a bit hidden amongst the neighborhood at 4th & Corona, but is amazing.
Great atmosphere, cheery and colorful, mediterranean themed with lots of space and its own parking lot.
Food is great, being a creature of habit, i'm stuck on the Chicken Shwarma plate, and the baba-ganoosh is sooooo yummy.
Prices aren't too bad, total bill for 2 meals today was $19.
Only downside is they are still waiting on their liquor license,.. definitely recommend it and I'll be going here a lot!

The Broker (downtown)
Went here last night for an anniversary dinner,
Pretty neat atmosphere as it was built inside of an old bank, so you literally walk through the old bank-vault doors to get to the main seating area. Restaurant is very old and it shows, in a good way.
Some of the tables are located in what used to be safe-deposit-box-privacy rooms, which are the size of a typical restaurant booth, I had a LOT of trouble getting my long legs under the table because of the way it was setup, felt like a fool having to contort just to sit down for a meal.
Service was GREAT,
Food wasn't too bad, had a bowl of shrimp, oysters and Cajun Blackened Mahi, Mahi was good, but overall nothing amazing....
The Tiramisu was delicious, and was the best part of the meal.
Price was $100 for two people, for a 3-course meal with lots of wine and champagne.
My favorite part was seeing a mouse crawling around looking for scraps, didn't bother me as I understand we share this planet (hippie) and mice are pretty much everywhere...
I wouldn't go to Broker again though.
