Called the State Patrol Today

So I was cruising north to get those snow tires (YAY!!) on I25 when I noticed a slammed, murdered out pickup approaching from the rear. I was in the middle lane in a pack of traffic taking up all three lanes. THis pickup moved onto the shoulder and passed us, went back across the road and passed on the median, then back to the shoulder and passed on the shoulder AGAIN. This was all south of Monument, right there at Baptist Road. So I called *277 and reported him. State Patrol said they'd try to catch him, but he was GONE.
Fortunately, I got to see him again. He was off the side of the I right by Med Ved Ford, trying to change his tire lol. That's what you get for rolling over those rumble strips all the time.
Called *CSP again and they said, "Yep, we're going to get him now."
They called me back later and asked if I'd sign a report. Just a word of advice -- when you're talking to the state patrol on the cell phone while driving (I had a hands-free set), turn OFF your radar detector. I got a Ka-band hit while talking to him and it actually made the trooper pause and stumble over his words a little. Oops.
But he thanked me for calling in and said that the guy could have easily killed someone. Said they wrote him a ticket and would be sending me the report.
Normally, I just ignore that shit, but he was seriously doing some crazy stuff. Man.

Yeah, I wonder how much it'll stick if a cop didn't witness it...

The cop doesn't have to witness it if you say you did. You are the witness.

It could have been -- met their criteria. But it had no stickers.

I think I'm _A_ witness. Pretty sure they got multiple calls.

Good for you! I'll call CSP if someone is being really dumb, but I've yet to have to sign a witness statement.

I'd bet against that.

I had one like that a few years ago.
I was driving through greenland heading north on I25. I was in the slow lane going 85 there was a guy in the fast lane passing me going about 90. Then this lifted truck passes me on the shoulder going over 100. I than see his going in and out of traffic. What sucked though was I only got half of his license and I say that is was Nebraska plates. I called *277 and told them. they called me back a few times asking if I knew were he was. They were trying to get him in castle rock. They never called me after that to sign anything to I assume they never caught him.

I called the CSP once when there was a drunk driver literally bouncing off the concrete median on RT36. Had to hit it 4 or 5 times in the span of time we kept tabs on him. When we spoke with the operator, she mentioned they had received numerous calls and were on their way.

Well, when I called the second time, they said they already knew he was pulled over near Med Ved, so they must have had multiple calls.

THey lucked out this time. Loser-boy had to change a tire on his dumb-truck, so they were able to catch him. I actually saw the trooper headed southbound to get him. LOL.

Ouch...one thing I cannot tolerate is a drunk driver.
