Some Good News for a Change

I know everyone here is probably tired of reading how my crappy money situation makes things for me, but as of late, things have started looking up.
I got that bonus that bailed me out where the fan control module was concerned, and I managed to turn that from a $600 fail to just a $200 fail with tbot's help. Used another $550 to buy those Wintersport M3s from a subie gal in Denver, so my tires are handled for the meantime.
I'm HOPING the command overcomes a business rule that makes it so civilian employees cannot receive two cash awards in the same 365-day period. That bonus I received was for LAST year, and should have been paid back in January, but they had to jump through hoops to free up the money. If they can get that rule waived, I could land another bonus in January. That would help, and like I said, I'd put it all toward the car, mostly in preventative stuff.
My limited powertrain warranty is going to cover that VVT actuator problem, if that's the demon right now. So $250 is OK.
Today I met with the roofer and it looks like we will owe NOTHING in deductible, thanks to some creative financing and arrangements. SO that's $1000 we don't have to come up with right before the holidays.
My wife's made good progress on the credit cards, and it LOOKS right now (hope I don't jinx her) like she'll be receiving a promotion/Pay raise in January. Should be another $500 - $700 after taxes each month, so that will help IMMENSELY.
If all of this works out, things will really look up for us. Maybe, come next summer, I'll be able to actually put some money in my 401K, AND still be able to mod a bit.
So cross your fingers -- maybe the stars are finally aligning for us.
