Then buy a netbook for FAR less with windows already installed (also a money saver) and forego the Mac.

Because they don't have the same build quality or that long a battery life. Plus running osx native has its benefits as well, which I use all the time, just on my 6 year old powerbook G4 lol. Something new would be nice.

Dual boot was the key item there.

Just an FYI, Netbooks SUCK for car tuning. The screens are too small for most software which need a larger pixel ratio to see the full screen. So you are constantly scrolling vertically and horizontally to see all the tables. I know, I had one for a while.

Also, for me, the keyboard was horribly under-sized. I'm a big guy and have big hands, but I imagine for most men, unless you have girl hands, it's going to be rough.

This has a full size keyboard, and a fairly decent pixel count.

The dell 700m i have now has a 12" screen (forget the resolution) but shows the tuning software for the standback just fine. So as long as i get something with the same or higher res screen I think I'll be fine.

I'm agreeing with you TBot, relax LOL. I REALLY want this new Macbook Air, I am seriously considering it.

I had an Asus netbook, I think it had a 10" screen, and it sucked. It was just too small. It made navigating through the windows very tedious.

All software is different, so it just depends. I was using the Cobb AccessTUNER Race (ATR) software. The AEM Pro software is the same way as well, because it gets window/tables happy.

Looks nice. But not for me. Even if it weren't a Mac it wouldn't be for me. That is all. :)
