So apparently the Thornton PD has a boosted 350Z for undercover traffic work, or I read on FB. Anyone seen this beast? Apparently it's blue with a light bar, FMIC, and dark tint....

I wouldn't doubt it if they did, probably a Police repo.
Phoenix PD had an early 90's Fox body Mustang with a supercharged and 200-shot 5.0 making north of 800rwhp, painted black with blacked out rims, undercover LED light bar mounted under the roof behind the windshield. Best part was the vanity plate, "busted".

hmmm...that must be new. I never once saw anything but a magnum for undercover type work of the popo up north...would be kinda cool to see tho.

Sweet. I still get paranoid around dark colored Chargers because I've been pulled over twice by completely unmarked Chargers around Castle Rock.
I wonder if it's entrapment if they rev on someone to try to get them to race and then slap them with a speed contest 12 pointer.

At least in Colorado Springs if you can outrun visual contact you should get away unless they get your plate (or radio ahead and accurately predict where you're going). No more helicopters down here because the budget is in bad shape and they had to sell them off.
I would never advocate trying to outrun the cops though lol. If you get caught just take your punishment and move on.

I've always wondered about that. I mean, I doubt it and all...but still. (A cop could [technically] run up on you, then you speed up, and he could pull you over-- if he/she really wanted to...really.) But I digress...

that is entrapment because a kid in my class is a cop and he sai dthat is not allowed and you could fight the ticket and win your case but if your racing an dhe catches up which a 350z with turbo i dont think thei ris many cars in this club that can outrun it anyways

There were stories in California where the Police were using repo'ed modified imports and muscle cars for undercovers to bait cars into illegal street racing. They would even go to large gatherings of cars like car shows and drift events, hang out and pose as a normal person, and try and get people to race them.
It's not entrapment at all, no one is forcing you to race. You can easily decline the race. It's not like the undercover cops are being overly aggressive in the baiting, either.
If it's entrapment to just bait someone into a street race, then how to narc cops make undercover drug selling busts all the time, or undercover female cops that pose as prostitutes and get men to pay for sex? Same exact thing.
