so today i decided to fix the coolant leak coming from the turbo and so i did. got the hose replaced and whatever. i go to drive the car back home from a friends shop and a couple miles down the highway i notice my temps peak then a loud pop seconds after i look. just as i was about to exit and pull over to wherever safe, smokes starts pouring out the back then into the car. by the time i pulled over the car is completely dead.

then i opened up the hood to check out whats going down and found this

the neck to the radiator hose breaks. i check it out a little closer and its not only plastic. theres a aluminum neck that also broke with it. crazy shit! lol

but the best thing is when i get it towed back the shop. i come to take off the drain plug and see coolant pour out of the pan then oil right after. seemed like almost 8qts of oil and coolant that came out of that damn thing.

so in short i have a blown head gasket. i could get it back on the road in a week or whenever i have some time off. should be an easy job. i thought my tech days were done but i was wrong...

edit: oh yea its a 98 volvo s70 glt with the s70r turbo engine.

haha no, i use earplugs now that i have an "exhaust." it has a 4in pipe from the turbo so it isnt as loud as before but still loud.

Good grief man haha. You remind me of my Dad's history with the list of cars he's had. Not exactly the same type of cars, but you're gaining on him with the numbers haha.

I don't think he modded his quite as much either haha.

i think ill be sticking with this car for awhile since i am making payments on it lol. also insurance is pretty cheap for being a 4 door sedan. there was a g37 coupe i wanted but that sold tag killed it for me.

the fc is put on hold til i get this car to get it looking the way i want it.

itll only be for a month or two. its pretty much complete i just need to get the engine out of the way then doing something different with the body work. thinking more along the lines of a time trial/timeattack thing
