I will try to keep this as short as possible. My brother just got a desktop for cheap. it's nice from the outside but the inside has its downsides.

He got the idea of making it a gaming desktop only but I'm pretty sure it won't work for that, at all. here are the specs

2gb max RAM
1.25 dual processor.
120gb HD
supports NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti graphics card with 128 MB of DDR SDRAM.
doesn't support windows only in emulator so this is a major downside.

What do you guys think, I know some of you know a lot about computers, so is this something that will even work for school use? My brother is going to business school right now and he does a lot of word, powerpoint and will soon start doing bigger things so he does need somewhat of a fast computer.

also, he got a really nice laptop with 4gb RAM and 250gb HD and 2.5 processor. so for the mean time he does having something to use, he just would like a good desktop to use at home.

If all he is doing is internet, powerpoint and word processing, it should be fine. Hell, my tablet does all that stuff without breaking a sweat.

He is just doing those for now, but later he will have to do some major multitasking and I don't think the current RAM installed will keep up. What tablet do you have Justin? He has an ipad and says he tried doing his work on it but was "awkward" not sure what he meant by that.

First gen Galaxy tab. It's awkward for anything that requires a lot of typing, but works in a pinch. What kind of multitasking is he going to be doing? If it isn't displaying video, it'll just take longer to crunch but that won't matter as long as he has the time.
