I've not been, but when I go look at cars, I know I get more excited about stuff guys have done themselves as opposed to have had done in a shop or just outright bought. So to offer my perspective, if I'm at the show chances are I'll eyeball your car pretty good and ask lots of quiestions. If the answerstarts to be "I had this done here and this done here", then I start to trail off. Based on that, I think you might get looks from people that have built their own cars and weren't given everything on a platter. or are working on building cars and don't have everything given to them or enoiugh money to just pay for it. I would rather have their attention anyway.
For verification, I think I have Chris thoroughly annoyed with my repeated questions and he doesn't have 20k into his car yet. But he has done it all himself and I am trying to drag that knowledge out of him.
I do like some well finished and thought out cars though. Not so much into over the top show cars though (gullwing doors, lateral drop doors, huge media displays, etc.), but that stuff takes some perseverence to get it right and some sack. So whether you built it or bought it, as long as there is some vision in it and some ingenuity, I'm down.
Anybody planning to hit the Vegas HIN tis year? I think it is the closest. would be crazy to have an LA show the following weekend.

They can hold it at Sport Authority Field or Pepsi Center during the summer, more centralized. For minimum signature, that I'm not sure. If I don't get enough signatures, I'll start a Facebook petition.
I haven't been to HIN in my life, but always read stories about it, check out pictures. Always wanted to go but never took time out of my schedule to attend. Denver deserves better treatment for import car culture.

Why do you say this? I would like to see more of it (the culture) in Denver (Recalls CMZC Denver meet of 1, hahaha). I have yet to drive by somewhere and see a group of import car people hanging out. It must happen somewhere, but I just haven't seen it. If I do see it and pll in and introduce myself, are they going to be cool and welcome me, or act like asses?
On an interesting side note, and probably not the right place for it, but I saw a 50+ year old guy driving a Cobalt SS (White) with roll cage/harness bar racing seats and harnesses driving down I25 tonight. Cool as can be. He saw me check it all out, and gave it a little gas. Turbo sounded good and he drove nice and smooth with traffic. In contrast some DB in a orange evo (black hood) was driving like an ### and you could hear his turbo acting all whack due to weird throttle inputs. I guess since I am a little older myself, I was more impressed with the guy in the cobalt SS.
Oh and I agree about HIN. If it doesn't come here, I will go there though!

Wasn't this guy by chance, was it? If so, he is a great guy.

Usually the 24hr Starbucks on Colo. Blvd. Sundays .
probably act like assess unless you go with people you know. Most people there are highly immature.

Yep that looks like him. I would have really liked to talk to him, so maybe at the March AutoX.
Looks like he has made some additions to the car since then (cage).
I love to see the older people (50+), younger people (can't believe ecam's up and comer), and ladies drive. Not sure why, maybe because it goes against streotype. Course, the older older geneation grew up racing...

Due to the growing influx of people from California among other states with greater populations, it would make sense to have HIN make this a location for their scheduled stops. Colorado is not known as a fly over or drive through state anymore compared to the past. Some people may or may not like import cars or the culture involved, but with more people coming to Denver, it will be needed.
