My parents used one for awhile. They work, phone quality is decent and they are certainly cheap. Really no downsides if you want to have a home-phone for next to nothing.

That's what I was thinking (or hoping for, anyway). Might give it a shot.

All of these companies have the + and - you just have to make sure it'll fully fit your needs. Also see: Ooma Telo, NetTalk Duo, even Skype or Google Voice might fit the bill for you?!? Truly do a internet search and look at the reviews for each. While there are tons of positive reviews for Magic Jack, these kind of hits some of the low points: http://www.voipreview.org/review/magicjack

Ok I was a tech with Comcast and heres the deal with MPJ your call are not transferred on secure line and are bounced over other IPs on the way. You can have your conversations hijacked by others. Oh vonage is even worse and by the time you pay for the service you want from them you where better off keeping the phone/internet bundle from comcast lol

Hmmm... Comcast is a rip off. Best Cable I've had, but I'm not willing to pay the highway robbery they charge.

Secure? Highjacked? What could someone gain by listening to my conversations though?

That is the "delta", not the cost. What is your delta and what other intangibles do you gain or lose?

WE must do a triple bottom line analysis of this jack magic.

In this comparative analysis, please be sure to highlight both qualitative and quantitative findings.

Thanks.

Always.

If you don't track time spent doing a task, how do you know if you are doing it better thennext time? Unless you do the same task, with increased data points in the same time.
