Any electrician in the house?

So, here's the problem. My 2 kids/guess rooms upstairs share the same circuit I checked/reset the breaker outside and it's fine. One of the room has power and the other doesn't. What could be the issue? I've seen that room loose power and then it came back on without me doing anything. If this require a professional, I am ready to hire.

Tripped GFI? It could be located somewhere random...like basement, etc.

How long has this been happening?
If it was fine before it could be some faulty wiring. Your best bet is to hire a pro if thats the case.

It only started last winter. We lived in this house since it was built in 2004.

possibly a loose connection at a switch or power outlet (wherever the feed to the second room is) Check for a tripped GFCI as tut said as well. My guess is stil a loose screw between the two rooms. If you have no experience with home electricity I highly recommend you hire a pro, you know, because electricity can kill you, which is bad in most cases...

I found the problem and got it fixed... Thanks to some tips that I got from CSC (Colorado Sportbike Club). Learned something new everyday.

I didn't know that power goes from outlet to outlet to the next (that was the tip that I needed)... So I just had to make sure that all the wires that links the outlets together is connected properly. It turns out one of the wire from room one that links to room two was loose. I just tighten it, turn the power back on and viola!

haha, now that I read your post again, you did mention the outlet... I guess I needed someone to spell it out for me.

Glad you got it fixed!
Had a similar problem tonight. A (hardwired) smoke alarm kept chirping. Changed back-up battery, but kept chirping. After pulling it off, I found the neutral had become completely disengaged from the wire nut:rolleyes:

Good call on the GFI though...really saved my bacon (grass-fed beef?) when that was my problem.
