I hate speed bumps rant

even though the maxima is at stock height i still hate speed bumps. especially the small speed bumps at grocery stores.

Know what I hate? Dickheads that speed in residential areas. As the proud owner of a pair of curtain climbers, I love the speed bumps in my neighborhood. They're the big wide ones and are really well marked, so they actually slow down traffic without damaging cars. I want one in front of my house. I live a block from an elementary school and a middle school and people do 35mph down my street. Some asshole in a blue Toyota pickup does at least that down my street every morning about 7:30, which isn't much before all the kids in my area are walking to school. I may need to pick up one of those shopping carts. I'd hate speed bumps just like you non-kid owners, but rug rats are fast and don't understand the dangers that cars pose. Mine are well trained, but I still don't trust them to not do something stupid if they're not paying attention. If those of you who hate speed bumps are actually doing 25, thanks! Those of you that aren't, I hope I get a chance to smack you on the back of your inconsiderate moronic head.

Not to resurrect a somewhat older post, but I understand where those of you in favor of speed bumps are coming from. I want to make it clear that I despise them because I don't speed. Heck, I drive well under the 25mph speed limit in all residential areas. When I go to my parents house (residential with lots of kids) people are always right on my ### the entire time because I'm not flying through at 40. I just hate that I have to come to a crawl every 30 or so feet to drive over a small mountain. Speed bumps are really only effective if you drive a car. I watch countless SUVs and trucks fly over them at 25+ without a care in the world. They do nothing to slow them down. I choose to drive a car and because of it I'm the one who has to be concerned with speed bumps. My favorite thing ( ) of all time is when I have to come to a dead crawl to get over them and the guy/gal in the massive tank of an SUV is literally inches from my rear bumper. Then on the street they pass me in a fury and give me a dirty look. Yeah, speed bumps are supper effective...

Oh, and I have since moved to a new apartment without speed bumps and could not be happier about it. I actually asked the leasing lady if there were speed bumps, she said 'no' and I knew I was home.. lol
