Laps at Second Creek Raceway (SCR)?!?

Let me preface this post by stating "I AM NOT ADVOCATING BREAKING THE LAW or TRESPASSING".

But on another forum someone mentioned they have taken a few laps at the shutdown Second Creek Raceway.

Also, anyone go to Second Creek and race around? I did the other day. It was awesome. I wrote a letter to those Minnesota pig farmer people who own the land now, I will let you guys know if they ever respond. I kissed their ### and gave them a crisp $10 for reading my ### kissing letter. I included a pre-stamped return letter, and everything. All they have to do is sign and drop it back in the mail. We shall see.

I told the guy I thought the track was shut down, and locked up.

Dude, it's prime. NO SIGNS of any sort. Google earth it. Easy access, you just drive right on. Track is in great shape. Just go in, do a couple laps and be out. If the cops see you they will tell you to leave, but since there are no signs the cops usually start with a warning. The more times you can get in and out, the more laps you get. The cops told my friend that if he had a permission slip from the owners it was all good, hence my effort.

So needless to say, I have an idea where I'm going my next trip to Denver!!!!!!!!!

I found posts on another website from back in 2007 where people mentioned doing quick laps at the closed/abandoned track,

So my thought is, if people have been doing this for so long, and no signs have been posted, it must not be a big deal or the land owner would have put up signs by now...

Alex, if you want, PM me your number and i'll shoot you a txt when I randomly go in case you're free...

It'd be nice to go with someone else, in case I run into:

Last time I drove by in daylight, it was definitely not in "great shape." It was as you'd expect asphalt to be after five years abandoned - grass everywhere. I recall jersey barriers across the track a few years ago - if those haven't been removed, your laps are going to be pretty awkward.

It was a fun track - I miss it.

You can see the cracks and grass on Google Maps even. And quite a bit of dirt on the track from the two track road that leads from the main road to the track. I'd be careful not to push it too hard out there.

the pavement is 14 years old and hasn't been touched in 8 years so I expect it to be rough, first round will be a crawl for sure,

Wild. I'm out that way on a semi-regular basis, had no idea this even existed. I'll have to check it out. Too bad the clutch in the WRX is in bad shape.

Checked it out today, it's great!
You have to enter through the side on 88th, there's a little opening and a dirt road that goes straight to the track...

Road condition was great, ironically this abandoned 14-year-old road is in better condition than 88th, (and all Denver streets)

Just watch out for prairie dogs and deer.
