Okay! Finally home, no editing. I forgot I haven't downloaded PS to my mac yet :/
Thanks to Paul for taking the ones up on the hill for me -- my legs were *just* not working to climb :( I'll have to do some editing and re-post my editing photos later, though.

Your pictures in your first post are not showing up for me. A few others to.

The way I would do it is to copy the original layer, (Command + J, or if not then whatever apples equivalent to ctrl is + j) Then go to Image>Adjustments>Desaturate. That will make it B/W. Then just outline the car you want and delete it. The color should show from the original image in the bottom layer and everything else will stay B/W. I would use the Pen tool to outling the car. But using just the eraser should be fine if you are careful about it.
Sumaire wrote:Hehheh, well, that'd be me. While it was interesting being the only non-Mazda there, the fact is it didn't really seem to matter too much - it was fun, plain and simple. Also, the tunnel-blasting was exactly that - an absolute BLAST! :D

Thanks again to everyone for the awesome drive - and thanks to everyone for putting up with my randomness and such.

SPECIAL THANKS to Jimmy for guiding me to an E85 station, and then to ANOTHER one after that, since the first was out of fuel. I owe you one, man - thanks. :)

Any time man. It was no problem. We welcome any and all non-Mazda's to come with us. I wish there was less traffic on the cruise though. For the most part it was fun. I loved the tunnel blasts always do when I go to the hills.

I just can't comprehend how I can make it up the hills through 6th but there is no way I can go up 70 without overheating. Must be a steeper grade on 70 than it looks like.

I use Coral Paint Shop prox3 for my photoshop and what i did was make 2 copies of the same picture. one in b/w and the other in color. the color one was the "bottom" layer and the b/w was the "top" layer. on the "top" layer I erased our cars leaving the colored layer exposed.

I made a mistake though, you can see color on the mx5 through your windshield:lol:

also on the picture where jimmy is leading and you are fallowing the all our cars are in color while the mountains are b/w but I also left the sky in blue. (little details )

Well... Speaking purely in theory (and not necessarily that strong of one, either) it's possible that the on-off-on-off power application in the mountains is *just* enough to give the engine time to breathe and cool down... Though you're right about the grade of climb being pretty steep on I-70, another thing you have to take into account is the RPMs and speeds you're doing under each circumstance...

Just thinking--- and probably not doing that too well, heh.

Jimmy, click on her link, they don't show for me but they are on her flickr. at the end of the pictures I was glad I didn't see a picture of me stuck in the snow

Edit: and the way you described on how to make the edit is identical to how i do it. except for removing objects. sometimes the background erase tool does wonders. specially when the objects are different color. red car black sidewalk, doesn't work with black car and black sidewalk though lol

Jimmy - you should be able to copy from flickr, you have to go to actions < view all sizes.

Weird, I'm not sure why it won't load for you guys though.... it does for me; even on my mac.

Yeah only 2 pics are showing and they'd be the 2 I stole. Same thing on all my browsers and my 3 browser on my phone. I wonder why. Pretty sure it's not cache related.

And I found the download button on flickr. Thanks.
