Lol, that part was great. Totally right on that one, the ONLY car that you could actually recognize that wasn't involved in the plot was the 8. Pretty awesome imo :p

I thought it was pretty good. It's been a while since I saw the last one, Tokyo Drift sucked, 2 Fast 2 Furious was too nitrous happy, and the first one way good as well. I'd say this one is about equal with the first, maybe actually pulling ahead because the entire thing isn't about "nos" making the world a cheesy motion blur.

yes, that was supposed to be a pun.

Saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it, I feel safe saying the was my favorite of the Fast and Furious franchise.

My only gripe is the movie is out of time line. So Han died in Tokyo Drift, but he was in 4th and now this, the 5th movie, so a reasonable person would assume that these movies took place before Tokyo Drift. However, this movie had countless new model cars (370Z, WRX STi sedan, new Dodge Charger and Challenger, Nissan R35 GT-R, etc) that have come after Tokyo Drift was filmed. Oh well, I guess I expect too much. Just a minor gripe I guess haha.

so they left the "racing scene" and have moved on to more of an action movie with car chases on the side. I like that.

also holy fffffffuuuuuuuu the rock got huge. He looks more like a body builder now.

So for anyone who thought it was "dead" at the theater last night:

Fast Five is the top debut earner of the year, over doubling the next highest earner at the box office opening weekend. Rio debuted earning $39.2 million it's opening weekend. Fast Five debuted earning $83.6 million this weekend.

It was dead until the crowd arrived, mainly they were teens and early tweens.

And yes Matt, the movie was great.

It probably has a lot to do with the fact that a large part of the crowd it appeals to (such as myself :p) still has a legally imposed curfew. And I bet there were quite a few people going to the IMAX showing at 10:15 as well.
