Dear CMZC,

As you know, I don’t normally utilize the sites mass-mail feature, as I generally hate getting emails that aren’t of a personal or super important nature. You can expect to get 2-4 emails from me a year, so I do hope that this is not an inconvenience to you in any way. I do have something very important to share.

As you might already know, we lost a RKC site member, Blake Finnell, to a heartbreaking case of pneumonia on 8-11-07. It was random, sudden, and tragic. The news affected everyone who knew him and many more that didn’t. A huge out-pouring of condolences were given by hundreds on sites across the net. RKC, which was one of the sites Blake liked to call “home” has been heavily involved in everything having to do with Blake since he passed, and our resolve has not changed one bit since that day.

This Sunday, one day short of the one year anniversary of his passing, we are planning a memorial cruise and GTG in his honor. The plan is to meet at his grave at Rest Haven in Rockwall Texas Sunday, at 11am. We will leave there as a group, and cruise 35 miles to Winghouse in Dallas, which is the site of the last RKC meet that Blake every attended. Blakes own truck “FUZION” will be in attendance, it has been completed by his parents, a dream Blake had while he was still with us.

I need as many RKC members as possible to come and show support. Even if you did not know Blake, I want to remind you all that even at 13,000+ members, RKC is still a family. And a family takes care of one another. This is one of those times that I need you, all of you, to make an effort to come out, show your support, and help us make a huge impression.

At Winghouse, we will be collecting donations for the “Fuzion Foundation” which is a memorial in Blakes honor that is benefiting pneumonia research and treatment. The National Harley Truck Owners Club has committed to this event, and across the country are holding meets and memorials in Blake’s honor.
