I may try to make it down to this even though I don't have a miata. I've been to an autocross the Flyin' Miatas put on at the Gokart track about 6 or 7 years ago. It is a high speed gokart track.

I've been to these back as far as 1997 and they are great events from great people. Definitely Miata-centric - if you have a Miata and care about cars, you must be there. Still a whole lot of fun for the rest of the Mazda and sports car clan, too. Worth going!

Wow, I would love to make this event! There's a decent chance that I will not have the opportunity, but I should be able to determine that within the next 5-6 weeks. If I can make this, I'll be there, as this sounds like a lot of fun!

I am about 85% on going and plan on heading up sometime mid morning on Thursday. If there are others planning on going we should try to setup something to all head up together.

I would like to make this. We'll have to see what my time off situation is like if I get a new job between now and then. I'd really like to get in on the track time on Friday. I wonder how many times you'll get to run, since they only allow 4-5 drivers at a time on the track. And how long each session is.

Still going!! I was unsure if I was going to be able to make it due to work but was able to pull it off. I registered today and all the trake days are full with a 10 person waiting list. I am disappointed because that was the main reason I was going but am still going for the classes and networking. Plan on leaving on Thursday midmorning.

I already have a trip over there planned for Labor Day weekend. I also have a few things I need to get done on my car before I plan to take it over the mountains again.

I am not sure, my wife handled that. Glad to hear that you are going. Still disappointed that I won't be seeing any track time. Good luck on Thursday and will plan on seeing everyone Friday at Sonic.

Had a great weekend out at the Fly'n Miata Summer Camp and was great meeting others that are as enthusiastic about their cars as I am. There was a great turn out, over 90 registered, 14 different states represented and 3 countries (US, Canada & Germany). The furthest someone drove to come to this was from the center of Florida.

I was unable to track my car but did go out, get some great pictures and do a ride along. The track was a lot smaller than I though, only 1.8 or something miles and extremely tight. It is actually a track specifically designed for shifter carts but many clubs come out and run it. Nothing like High Plains.

I did however has some car problems and was lucky enough that I trailer-ed it out there. I got a short some how (might have been a speed bump, the evil nemeses of my Miata) and was draining the battery & preventing the motor from running off the alternator. None the less had a great time and wanted to share some pics.
