I'm down. I've wanted to go for a few years now and never had a chance.

Would you be interested in volunteering for the event? Check out colorado springs sports corp. Always looking for volunteers and this is an event they organize.

Thanks for the heads up!

(Chris is in tight with the race teams due to his wrenching skills and tireless work ethic, btw)

I'm not sure if I'm going this year. The team I pit with last year wrecked their car. The car is completely totaled so they need to get a new car. The plan was to put a turbo S2k motor in the corolla. Not sure what the replacement car will be for next year.

I'll see if I have the time to pit with another crew this year. It's going to be hard with the baby and all.

how is it you found the opportunity to pit with a crew? did you just look up a team and start offering your services? or did you already have connections with the team? I wouldn't doing some pit work myself.

I had connections with another team that I pit for in 2010 and 2011. In 2012 I pit for a crew that I met on the mountain the 2 years before. The hill climb is a good old boys race.

The early mornings are tough. Be on the mountain before 5am and get back down after 10am. Wednesday-Friday It snows at least one of the mornings.

So there are practice days and the race is on Sunday. Am I correct in understanding this?

Also, Family 4-pack for $135. :)

Myself and a few friends will be there. We won't go above treeline though. The weather gets too unpredictable up there.

I'm going to try to go to fanfest again, but with probably deploying the next day and remembering what happened last year, I'm not even trying to go to the race lol.
