I messed up the threads trying to merge them to here is the info:
Alright. With zero notice, it's time to see who can make it out on Saturday for a Memorial Day weekend cruise! Fast & Furious movie to follow!
LearJet's Fast&Furious thread

Get as many different types of Mazdas on the cruise as possible.
When:
Saturday May 25th, 2013
Where:
Home Depot
4277 S Eldridge Street
Morrison, CO 80465
to
Echo Lake Park (near Mt. Evans)
Time:
Start meeting at the Home Depot at around 1:00pm, leave by 2pm (2:15 at the latest)
Rules:
1.During the cruise itself, please don't street race one another.
2.Please be somewhat respectful of other drivers on the road. It will look even cooler if we all aren't acting like a-holes to other drivers.
3.Have fun
4.And most importantly, be nice to your fellow friends and club members! Cruises suck when we end up mad at one another.
5. Not expecting many cars with the short, short notice, but if anyone has a good radar detector and wants to lead the pack - all the more welcome.

Thanks for putting this together Paul,
I have a thing to go to at 3ish, but I'd like to come by for the first part and maybe cruise to Idaho Springs with you guys (then I'll turn back)

If it's a small cruise which I'm anticipating, then we'll move the time up. More the merrier!

After thinking things over, I think I'm going to have to pass on this one. My sister gets back from London tonight and she's been gone for nearly 5 months so I think some family time is in order this weekend instead. Have fun without me!

CO-103 is a great drive. It's in my backyard and I enjoy taking both of my Mazdas up there. If you haven't been up there this spring, be aware that there is some construction on the road in the lower sections nearest Evergreen. When you turn off of Co-74 onto CO-103 in Evergreen, you may see some "road closed" signs, but there is a well-marked detour around the closure onto "Old Squaw Pass" road for about a mile. Watch your speed there. Otherwise, and in general, it's a safe bet you will need to pass many cyclists on this tour today, and so, as always, be safe!
It would be pretty easy for me to join up with the cruise in my genpu ms3, maybe near the intersection of CO-74/CO-103, for the Evergreen/Idaho Springs/Evergreen leg, and it's not like I've got much else going on early afternoon...

Hi Chromal, we were planning on going the other way, starting along I70, through Idaho springs and down through evergreen. However, I think we can reverse the route no problem.

That was a lot of fun, though I think it's good the turnout was just the four Mazdas and MR2 with all that Memorial Day Weekend traffic everywhere. Much more in the cruise might have been hard to manage. As-is, was just about perfect...
Lots of cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, and even a longboarder (obligingly posing for the camera) up there around Mount Evans. I do worry about those longboarders on the roads, but I'm sure it's fun!
