Winterization/Coolant flush Meet 11-22-14

Postby Shadowden » Mon Oct 20, 2014 9:14

I know there is at least a few of us that are due to flush out our coolant systems. With that in mind, and an interest in getting it done sooner than later, I thought it would be fun to get people together and get them done.

I'd be more than willing to host at my place. Depending on the cars, we can get 3 in the garage and two in the driveway at a time. There is overflow parking at the end of the cul de sac.

11/22/14 is a Saturday. I'd prefer to get it done in the morning. Start with the first wave at say 9:00a and call it good for lunch at 12:00p, then if there are remaining cars to be done, get to work on those.

I'll plan to have some chili and some pulled pork available for everyone at lunch time.

If you are interested in coming up and having people HELP you change your coolant, add your name and vehicle to the list. If you just want to come up and help/hang out, just don't put a vehicle.

If you plan to do your coolant, please bring the following:
[*]Catch basin (I have dogs, so being somewhat clean in our work is appreciated)
[*]Coolant for your car & distilled water if you are not using premix
[*]Ramps or floor jack if you need to lift your car (jack stands if your car goes up and you get under it)

I'd prefer to not take all of the coolant in to recycle myself, so if a couple people wouldn't mind helping with it, I would appreciate it (depending on how many people participate).

I should be able to make it unless it is snowing. I'll keep you posted on the house stuff too.

I won't be able to make this one, as I'm booked pretty solid through most of November. Various family visits, hockey, work. Hope you get a good turnout. Winterization is a great idea, folks should also toss on a good durable coat of wax for the winter months!

My Lisle funnel will be in this week so that will make coolant flushes that much easier.

ArGh! This is a heck of an idea Shadow. I'd be all over this, I kid you not. Alas, this is the very week (in Nov) that my presence is required elsewhere.

Great to see stuff like this happening..

It has passed, and my December is jammed pack. Definitely could do a get together, just not sure how soon.
