Flooded RX8

Well I freakin' knew better but I managed to do it anyways.

I pulled it in the garage last night and didn't let it warm all the way up.

I tried to start it up a few times today and its turning over but won't start.

I have done what the paper from the dealership told me to.

I have looked all over online and found a few ideas, I'm just don't have the knowledge to try them.
(Such as removing fuses to taking out my spark plugs)

I don't know even know if thats actually needed, maybe there are other proven methods?

I'm off 120th and Sheridan.

If you or someone you know could help me out please let me know.

I'm not going to take it to the dealership unless it comes down to it.

Sorry but i had it taken to the dealership. If you end up having it taken to the dealership they replace the plugs and sometimes the wires. So it might be worth it to take it in. Sorry i couldn't help.

i flooded mine about a month ago. easiest way is to hook it up to a battery charger(if no charger then hook it up to someone elses car with cables) and crank on it until it starts. i asked one of the guys at the dealership what they do and they said the same thing. you can also take out the fuel pump fuse and crank on it to try and dry out the chamber. then put it back in and try and start

I took mine to the dealership and all they did was let it set and then charge me $100 when I told them what was wrong!!

yeah i would go with that if it still wont start with this way i would call the dealership and they will fix it and will give you new plugs like buffalo said. only thing with the dealer is sometimes they take for ever to do anything. i would come help but I'm all the way in the springs =/

Wire in a kill switch so you don't have to pay 100 bucks for some douche bag at a dealer ship to do what you can do in a half hour at the most, and 15 bucks in wire and a toggle switch.

This happened to me once last year when it was snowing and freeing out. Just let the car sit for about and hour and try it again. Just keep trying and have the pedal to the metal. It'll work. Or you can do what the Lakewood mazda does......

Put on the tow hook and have some beater olds drag your 8 down the street at 20+ mph and pop the clutch. Viola....it's running again. IMO I don't reccomened this at all.

A turbo timer isn't a bad idea either. $65 now will save a lot of hassle in the long run.

The best way is to pull the fuse for the fuel pump. Floor it and crank the motor over until dry. Put the fuse back in and start. I would come and help but I am also in the springs.

On old cars like mine it happens all the time if I don't pay attention.
