I think he is talking about plug wires not plugs.

I got a set of NGK wires through Amazon for my car for $20.

Yes I'm talking about the plug wires, but I currently am going to run 9s all around, even though Rich told me to run 10s and 10.5s, but I read those make it difficult to start on a street driven car.

And thanks Chris, for rubbing it in how cheap you got the wires LOL. Although I'm only paying about $32 from NAPA lol.

So no premix since you got the Mikuni OMP?

My buddy that built the engine told me I should premix as well, so I'll be premixing AND running 2 cycle through the OMP.

Now I'm looking for a machine shop, hopefully in C Springs that can lathe my engine mounts down to a usable height. The problem is my mounts are going to be either delrin or polyurethane. I've already checked with Gary at American Speed Center and he said he couldn't do it. Anyone in the C Springs area have any ideas?

I'm not sure you can even "machine" polyurethane, it should just crumble or rip. I would try Delrin first, I believe you can lathe it down.

My friend's FC just had aluminum pucks for the motor mounts haha, you can always do that- solid mount the motor basically.

I think it depends on how hard and how are you cutting or shaving. Some poly is hard enough, I think metal cutting tools would work.

Have you considered hockey pucks? Seriously. Not sure about 13Bs but 240SX guys do it all the time.

Actually I was going to use 2 hockey pucks on each side but they were just as tall as my other mounts that were too tall already, and 1 hockey puck was too short.

I did the machining of the delrin myself this afternoon. I used my chop saw and then used a belt sander to smooth it out as much as possible. It's still kinda janky but not too bad. I started by just using the belt sander but that would have taken forever lol. I did end up getting the polyurethane bushings and ignition/starter harness in the mail today, so I wrapped the harness in the heat shielding stuff and I'm using the delrin bushings because the poly bushings don't seem much softer.

I got the engine ready to drop in, so I guess I'll be doing that tomorrow morning, if the guys will help lol. Then I need to help Chris pull his engine out of the black FB, and the wife of one of the guys we have deployed sent an email today asking for help putting up a fence, but day-prior notice isn't quite enough for me when I already have plans haha. I might still see if I can find time to help her though.

Anyway, here are some pics of the engine...

Here are the exhaust ports, the white stuff inside is the petroleum jelly...

And unfortunately I broke the wire that goes to the power steering pump, so if someone local has deleted their power steering I'd like your wire please haha. Simon deleted his but I'm not sure if he still has the wire and he's in bed already.

I'm going to junk my power steering but not yet so I don't have the wire available haha. Later this summer I will tho!

Man that's a lot of "assembly lube" (aka jelly) in that motor! It's gonna smoke like a son-of-a-bitch when it fires up!

I think I'll look for someone down here that has a car that isn't running so I can borrow the wire until I get a new one haha.

Yeah I wiped out the jelly but I could still see some down in there too. I don't care if it smokes, as long as it starts haha.

We got the engine in, and I already have a lot of stuff connected. I need to install the downpipe, connect the engine wiring harness, install the radiator and IC and piping, put some fluids in, connect the battery wire (I have to put a terminal on the end since I rerouted it to the starter), put new spark plug wires on (when I get them), mount the coil pack, connect ground wires (and shorten them), and that should be it. Oh, I have to bolt down the engine mounts but I need bolts that are about 5mm longer. I still have to test fit the strut bar too to see if the mounts are the right height haha.

This was by far the easiest install I've done on an FD. It was ridiculous really. Zico and Simon helped out and I only suffered some gouges on the back of the turbo housing, so the powder coat is scratched up in a couple spots there. But that's it. Everything went so smoothly. The only thing driving me crazy now is the fact that I forgot to put lube into the pilot bearing before stabbing the engine and tranny together. Oh well. I'll get in there and pull the tranny to do that sometime later on, and at the same time I'll put a new rear seal in the tranny too.

I'll post pics later.

Oh I'll be sure to forget before then. LOL j/k.

I have everything hooked up. All I need to do now is connect the battery, put fluids in, probably get some new gas LOL and fire her up. Of course I still need to put on the fenders, hood, front bumper and all too if I want to drive it. And I need to bleed the ABS/brakes and clutch.

Well I didn't have any of that when I first got the car back from Street Nightmares a couple years ago and I drove it a few times like that LOL, but I'm not a fan. It already attracts attention, that would be too much attention and not from the people I like to get attention from LOL.

Here are some pics. It is still sans bumper, fenders and hood because I'm trying to decide if I want to put the flared stock fenders on and modify them or if I want to just put the FRP ones back on so I can drive it.
