I got the CHRA today and put the turbo together. It took some work since the rear of the compressor housing was smaller diameter than the old piece, but I made it work. Well, I think so anyway, we'll see haha. But I installed the turbo and manifold, hooked up all oil and coolant lines, and also the EGT sensors (and I had replaced the bad EGT sensor with a new one and it's working properly again). I also installed the IC and all.
I got the clutch fork and release bearing today too. I'll probably put those on tomorrow. I'm hoping the pilot bearing and seal are coming tomorrow so I can reinstall the tranny and see if it works. Then I'm going to run the car with no exhaust to make sure it's not spitting out smoke before I reinstall everything else.
My buddy that built the engine brought up a good point...the bearing that was in the e-shaft I sent to him was toast, and they replaced it with a good one. Now IT'S toast too. So either I'm not being careful enough when hooking the tranny and engine together or something is wrong, and I'm thinking it's the e-shaft since this tranny worked just fine with the old engine with no issues of destroying the pilot bearing. We'll see I guess. If I have to pull the tranny out again due to a destroyed pilot bearing I'll know the engine needs to come apart for a new e-shaft as well haha.
The diffuser is at WR Roadrace, Steve is fixing it. Well, he will be once I can remember to get some supplies for him haha.
And I haven't heard anything on the fenders yet, so we'll see.

Apparently when you order something from Mazdatrix on a Saturday they won't process and ship the stuff out until Tuesday, at least that's how it is now. I won't get the bearing and seal until tomorrow night. I just hope that fixes the problem. I know what I'm doing tomorrow night now haha. I called around tonight to see if one of the local parts stores had one and an O'Reilly did, according to their database anyway. They couldn't find it, so I came home with some grease and a new hydraulic jack instead haha.
Here in a little bit I'm going to put the throwout bearing and clutch fork onto the tranny, so I can be all the more ready for the rest of the parts to come in and put the tranny in.
Make sure you go easy when mating the engine and tranny when you put it back together. I'm hoping that's what my problem was, since it would be much worse if my e-shaft is messed up and I end up having to tear the engine back down just to replace the e-shaft. Screw that.

Actually I've found a few things there, but with my level of modification very seldom am I looking for something stock anyway. Autozone said they don't carry it anymore, which is weird because I believe the RX-8 uses the same bearings. The kid at Advance couldn't find it in there system and gave up after just a few minutes, even though he said they did have them but he couldn't remember what name they were listed under...uh, REALLY!!!! And O'Reilly said they had one in stock but then couldn't find it once I drove over there.
Doesn't matter anymore anyway. Kevin said my fenders won't be done until Monday now, so I'm not in a big hurry anymore.

I looked for the spare I have and I couldn't find it. I know what I'll be doing this weekend, cleaning the garage.

That's OK. I got the one from Mazdatrix in the mail today. Everything is back in the car, the FRP fenders are on and it's fairly ready to drive. I'm going to start it tomorrow and test the clutch problem, and also listen to the turbo to make sure everything is good. Tomorrow night I'll drive it and make sure it's not burning oil anymore. Now I'm just waiting for the fenders.
