So when I was cleaning things up last night I found out is is definitely a remanufactured motor. I found a plaque on the motor with a serial number, build number and a date of 5/01.

I'm happy. I was told by the PO that this was the case but I had no proof. I know that the motor has an oil pan baffle and a replacement oil tube so I assumed the PO was telling the truth.

So after asking on RX7Club I know now that it is an actual remanufactured motor built by Mazda. That is really good to know.

It looks like Mazda dicontinued the emblem I need the most, the Rear Mazda emblem. It is the only emblem that was on my car that was broken. Now I need to see if I can find a good used one. I'm going to see if I have one in the garage but I'm not sure if I do.

If anyone had one, let me know. It can be from an 1981-85 rx-7.

Mazdatrix might still have some. I know they sell a lot of the emblems anyway.

Spoke with the paint guy and he is in the process of painting the little parts. I may or may not be able to see the car tonight depending on the paint. He doesn't let anyone in to see the painting process because of the paint in the air, dust movement, etc.
