I'm hoping to get some more pics soon. Painting is almost done on the car. He also sent all the small black parts to powder coat.

I'm hoping to finally see some good progress on the car. All the small parts should be back from the powder coaters. I had all the semigloss black parts powder coated (door handles, window trim, etc.).

The painter moved to a new shop over the weekend (around the block). The owner of the building is a lot nicer so it is a better place to getting work done.

Its great to see you're getting the 7 painted. Can't wait to see it when its done. I wondered if you ordered new rubber trim. I under stand that you can strip the adhesive off, paint them and use new tape to reinstall. Thats a bummer about the Mazda emblem. Mine is glued on and I was hoping to be able to replace it. I did get my GSL emblem ok but it was like $69.00.

I did end up finding all new emblems. I'm keeping all the original rubber trim. Replacing with new would cost me around $800 just in trim.

We made some progress on Thursday. The black front end has all the fasteners installed to make it a GSL-SE front end. We will be welding it this week (hopefully).

Good to hear. This is starting to sound like a lot of my projects dealing with local shops or people, i.e. seats, paintjob, etc LOL.

Work is under way:

Installing all the fasteners on the black front was a lot harder than planned. There are 4 nuts that needed to be added to the '83 front so the airbox could be mounted. These nuts were welded from the inside of the framerails.
