just because it seems to be a pretty low vacuum at idle compared to what iv read

I used to tune carbs to vacuum at sea level. In those days 20 inches was about as good as it got for a good running piston engine. Come up to this altitude and find 15" is about all you can get.

I have a mechanical AutoMeter boost gauge, it will read anywhere from -15" at cold start to as low as -10" once warmed up. My engine also has a largish street port, so that will drop your idle vacuum.

The temp displacy on the commander is very accurate, it reads off the water temp sensor behind the thermostat housing, next to the alternator. If you are having problems I suggest replacing the sensor, it's only around $30 bucks.

ok sweet thats what i thought i just wanted to make sure, do you think a bad sensor is whats making the commander not read temp some times?

Bad sensor, bad wire connection, or bad connection at the ECU more than likely. It's doubtful the pfc or commander is bad or anything.
