I got most of the parts last week and got the remaining parts a couple days ago, but I haven't installed everything yet. I installed the LC-2 but haven't calibrated the sensor yet, and I tried to install the wiring harness for the AVC-R boost controller but I guess this is a newer harness and works with a different pressure sensor, so I'm either going to leave the harness in there for now and replace the whole unit later, or I'll put this harness in and buy a new pressure sensor too. I'd rather replace the whole thing with a new black one though. Although the ECU has a boost controller built into it, and I'd like to use that, but I'm not sure how I'd control it without hooking up a laptop every time I wanted to change the boost, and I like that the AVC-R shows peak boost, even though it shows it in bar or whatever rather than PSI.

I'm thinking about cutting the gauge pod part out of the Pettit piece and cutting the same swath out of the stock column cover and molding the Pettit piece into the stock one, because the Pettit piece doesn't match up as well as stock and it doesn't have any tabs or anything to keep it snapped together with the bottom piece. I'm going to have to modify the hole a bit anyway to fit the PLX gauge. I'm also going to have to remount the low washer fluid indicator light, since it's currently in the dash center pod, and I need to find the stock speaker grill to put back into the dash center as well. I might end up having to find a new one from someone rather than finding mine haha.

Sometime this weekend I'm hoping to hook up all the parts and get back to tuning this thing, if Dave can come down haha.

I also got the fuel gauge back from Speedhut. They said it tested good, but they replaced the board anyway just to be safe. So now I guess I'm going to have to dig a little deeper and figure out the wiring. It's really starting to frustrate me.

Oh and I also finally installed my condenser tonight, so once it's running correctly again I can take the car to Craig Auto Repair and have them make me some AC lines and finally have AC. WOOHOO!! Just in time for winter! lol At least I have heat again too.

I installed all the PLX stuff last night, except for the gauge. I'm still not decided on how to do the gauge pod on the column, but since it sits a little higher and is a little wider than the stock piece, I might just cut out a wider portion than I was planning on and mold it right on top of the stock cover. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I have all the EGT wiring and all that hooked up correctly, but we'll see soon enough.

If I have time tonight I might address the fuel gauge issue and see if I can fix that. Someone else sent me pics of where how he wired his gauge and it works, so I might have to do that, but I'll have to pull the cable out of where it's ran to the back of the car and put all that behind the cluster. I was trying to avoid that but I need it to work.

Also, I might be shopping for a new turbo timer, or I might just get rid of it altogether. I don't really need it and I was just using it to monitor extra stuff.

I rewired the fuel gauge tonight and it fixed it, so I reassembled my gauge cluster and put most of it back in the car. I also found a little plastic box at OEM Parts downtown and I cut some out of the sides and put weather stripping and foam inside so I could keep my integration board for the PLX in there to protect it. I don't have any room on my phone right now to take pics or I would. I still have to change some settings and see if I can get the PLX gauge to read something. Once I have that, it will be ready to do some tuning and put back on the road.

^Nope! Not drifting anyway haha. Looks like you're doing pretty good though! I still need to get the Sparco EVO 2 seats or whatever will drop me down enough and I can still fit in them, so I can wear a helmet. But I don't plan on drifting my car anyway.

I discovered that the PLX DM-100 Touch will not work with what I'm trying to do, because according to PLX, the gauge is more advanced than the non-touch version and it automatically detects the sequence in which you have the sensors hooked up, and therefore will not allow me to dictate which sensors I want to monitor. And since I only have the one box for the gauge and have everything hooked into that, I just bought a DM-100 and I'll be selling the DM-100 Touch. Josh, the other guy that has this exact setup, has the DM-100, so I know I'll be able to use this and get everything going again.

I still have to find my speaker cover for the center dash speaker, and I have to make a new DIN panel to fit the new cable ends and relocate the low washer fluid light to there as well. I also have to frankenstein the Pettit column cover pod to the stock column cover so it snaps together with the bottom stock cover, since the Pettit pod has no way of attaching it to the bottom cover. I guess I'll be cutting away the part of the Pettit pod I don't need, super glue it to the top of the stock one, fill in with either fiberglass or some kind of mud or something, sand it down and paint it. I also thought about getting a turbo speed sensor and putting that and the PLX gauge in the dash center pod and avoiding the column cover altogether.

After that if I have enough time I'll drop it off at Craig Auto Repair and see if they can get the AC stuff finished. I MIGHT still be able to make it to SevenStock but it's not likely.

I have carbon fiber cloth and epoxy if you want to try that instead of fibrglass. Definately harder since the pattern needs to line up and it is somewhat less flexible.

It shouldn't be hard to line up and it doesn't have to be super flexible. I just need something to fill in and smooth the transition between the pod and the cover.

I got the new PLX stuff last night and installed it. The only problem now is it keeps freezing up when I try to upload sensor tables from the computer, and it freezes when it looks for sensors to monitor. I'm really getting pissed with all this.

I just bought a PLX after my AEM not sending the right 5v Output.

The PLX is bad ### spot on.

Which one did you get?

I have it all installed and working properly now. I think so anyway. I'm about to start the car and see if the gauge and ECU are seeing the info from the sensors. If they are, I should be able to run closed loop tuning and get er done.

Oh ok cool.

Well, the gauge is working, and it's reading MAP and AFR, but nothing from the EGT sensors. I hooked the laptop to the TC-4 and it will hook up to LM Programmer so I can change a few settings on it, but it won't hook up to the LogWorks software. Neither the TC-4 nor the ECU are seeing EGT readings. I've talked to the tech at Innovate and he's been kinda condescending to me and not very helpful, but so far I haven't been home with the car when we've talked for him to help me step by step. He said if LM Programmer hooks up to it there is no physical way the logging software won't, but it doesn't read anything. And since there are only a handful of people that have messed with this stuff and the Adaptronic forum won't let me post anything, I'm finding it kinda difficult to do anything with it.

The car will hunt for idle between 140F and 170F but it's fine other than that. I went to adjust the settings on the TB and I discovered the air bleed screw is seized and I messed up the head of the screw so I can't get it out. So I either have to replace the whole TB or see if a machine shop can get the screw out.

And I was told the self tuning the ECU does won't work for doing the whole tune, it's just for minor adjustments. So I guess I still have to get it tuned also. I think I'll switch to AEM coils first though.

And I won't be making SevenStock this year since I was supposed to leave today. Oh well, I guess there's always the year after next.

I haven't done much with the car, but I did get the stuck air bleed screw out, although not without breaking the throttle body lol. I got one from Cody though so I'm cleaning it up now and have to change over all the little brackets and things.

I also talked to Steve Estrada today about tuning the car and also about my EGT issues. He said my EGT sensors might not be getting a good ground, so I have to check that out still.

I remade the little DIN panel to mount my boost controller, tuning cables and low washer fluid light. Just painted it and have to install it. I still have to modify the column cover for the PLX gauge. I've decided to just cut the sides off and use body moulding tape for the time being, then mold it together with something later to make it one piece.

I keep checking your post, which is about the only thread I actively track, and keep waiting to hear you drove your damn car.

Would you please drive it soon. It's killing me.

Glad to hear progress is forward.

LOL. Well after this weekend I'll be going to WRRoadrace to have Steve tune the car for me. But for the time being I'm putting the Power FC back in the car for Saturday. I'll take the GoPro so you can not only hear that I drove it, but see it as well lol.

Today at work I washed the throttle body and made another grounding cable to go from the battery directly to the tranny/engine. I bolted up that cable tonight and it doesn't look like it solved the EGT sensor issue. I haven't tried starting the car yet but with just the key turned forward the gauge still reads 3 on both sensors.

I still need to swap over all the parts from the old throttle body to the new one. I'm taking it to work tomorrow so I can do that lol. I'm so bored at work right now. I'm also going to take the stuff to modify the Pettit gauge pod into the stock column cover.
