LS2 FD Build

Well, I decided that the LS1 wasn't going to be enough and found an LS2 from an 05 GTO that would be a better fit for my wants/needs. The motor/tranny should be here by next weekend. To get things started, I pulled my motor on Saturday. I also plan to clean up the wiring in the engine bay a bit. I want to re-route some of the wiring and fuse boxes so that there's less visible when you peek under the hood and paint the engine bay black.

Cool. Will you be doing anything to the LS2 before you install it?

I probably won't do anything to the motor just yet. It was enough just to get my wife to go along with me buying the motor. I was trying not to be too greedy!

Friggin SICK. You may have just blasphemed every rotorhead out there, but I'm digging it. Please please do a dual exhaust exit....that LS2 needs to purr :)

^It already had the LS1 in it when he got it, so HE didn't do the blaspheming lol.

So are you gonna spray it yourself after all Frank? Might have to have you do mine too haha.

Yea I ended up doing it myself. I figured that it was the engine bay...good place to experiment. Oh and I picked up the material for the seats.

Rich - I'm not sure about the exhaust yet. I may just stick with the exhaust it had for now.

So I assume that you will be painting it the same color as the outside?

Are you still up for going on Wednesday? I went out last night and picked up some blue thread for the seats and boots, but she said she just wanted to relax and not to bring the stuff over. Ok, I didn't realize having someone drop something off was so much work HAHA. So I guess I'll be waiting til Wednesday anyway.

Yes, I am. I hit it this weekend but ran out of paint. Used more than I thought I would.

Hahaha. No problem. Hard part is finding a day warm enough to paint.

True. I guess I'll have to get an industrial size heater haha.
