Re: My New Toy
So both bearings on that wheel were bad? Hopefully that ends up being the only ones.

Re: My New Toy
The bearing is fixed. It is nice to drive the car without wheel bearing noise.

Re: My New Toy
I pulled the oil pan and fixed a leak. I decided to try out "Right Stuff" liquid gasket and overall I liked it but time will tell. I also installed an FD oil pressure regulator but bump the pressure slightly.

Re: My New Toy
I ordered a replacement clutch master and slave because mine is acting up. I really don't expect it to last much longer. I will be doing the swap this weekend. The slave is an easy swap but the master is a pain because the nuts are all the way up under the dash. I've done this a number of times over the years with these cars at least. I also ordered a vac pump/bleeder so I can make the job easier.
Friday afternoon here we come.

Re: My New Toy
The replacement clutch master and slave are in the car. It took me a total of about three hours. I also pulled the instrument cluster and turn signal switch to do some cleaning and repair. My gauges were all reading low because the voltage to the cluster was 1 volt low.

I'd be curious to under stand more about what you mean by "cleaning and repair" to restore the proper voltage to the cluster. Mostly grounds?

I did a combination of cleaning the plugs and pulling the gauges out of the cluster. The gauges bolt to the back cluster housing through a printed circuit, the bolts are actually positive and negative connections for the gauges. All gauge clusters from the '70s to recently until the modern digital dashes use basically the same system. I actually pulled the gauges and used CRC QD Electrical Parts Cleaner on the printed circuit as well as the back side of the gauges. I also inspected the solder to make sure it is all good, which it was fine. I made sure everything was making good connections when I put it back together, making sure nothing was over tightened.
I did start and run the car are various stages of this work. I wanted to check the voltage with the car running to see how close I was to 14v. I also checked voltage at the alternator, the battery, the main fuse block, and the ignition before I started pulling the cluster. I'm now getting 13.8 minimum at the back of the cluster which I'm happy with.
I wish I would have taken pictures.

Re: My New Toy
I changed my oil, rotated my tires, and greased the front end.
