Re: My New Toy
Turns out I have to work from 8 to 1pm. At least they're saying they'll let us go at 1, I didn't get off work until almost 8 tonight lol. I'm gonna stop by David's after work, then I'll text you and see the deal is.

Re: My New Toy
The clunk has started to get worse. I'm thinking that I may need to stop driving the car until I get this fixed. It is really starting to sound suspension related. I'm going to check under the car again Friday afternoon and see what I can figure out.

Re: My New Toy
Ryan and Eric came over on Saturday to look at the car. We did tighten down the front hubs because they were causing excessive inner tread wear.
We has no luck finding the clunk. The clunk was also Eric shy, lol.

Re: My New Toy
I thought we agreed it was just my massive extra weight in the car? And Ryan heard it because he's fit and light. lol

Re: My New Toy
haha Eric.
I'm going to pull the rear shocks, since it is easy, and see how they look.

Re: My New Toy
I took the car to Big O Tire on Austin Bluffs and had Brett do an alignment. The car had massive toe out that caused the tire wear. He also looked over the suspension and didn't find anything loose. On the way home, I listened really closely to the noise and found it is actually coming from the front. I pushed down on front suspension and got it to make the noise. It turns out to be the front struts causing the clunk.
I did have the front tires replaced on Saturday.
I also took and can of carb cleaner and sprayed around the motor to see if I have an exhaust leak causing the rough idle. I have a leak under the front right edge of the upper intake that will make the car die instantly if I spray there. I plan to pull the intake this afternoon or tonight.
I also need to fix the windshield washer switch. Something broke a few weeks ago.

Re: My New Toy
I figured out the vacuum leak and I believe it is fixed. I won't know fore sure until I drive the car. I broke one of the OMP lines in the process so I have to wait until I can get a new one installed because I can get it put back together.
I did get the washer switch fixed. I just need to put it back together which only takes about 10 minutes.

Re: My New Toy
I looked on the Rotorsports site and they only have them for 13B engines. I'd imagine someone makes some. Glad you got everything else fixed.

My car has a 13B engine.
I emailed them and here is the response:
We have SS OMP lines that fit the 2nd gen RX7's- these are made to fit all FC RX7's and are made slightly longer than needed so they can fit all versions (S4 N/A & turbo- S5 N/A & turbo)
The lines can be trimmed to fit all versions as well as the GSL-SE. One end of each line is unterminated & includes the banjo fittings that can be attached easily once lines are trimmed to fit (or you can terminate the ends & re-route the lines)
Cost is $190.00/set of 4 SS lines & fittings + shipping

Re: My New Toy
I purchased one new line to replace the broken one. I ended up having to go with a S4 FC line since the SE lines are discontinued. I still plan to go with the SS lines at some point but at least this gets the car back on the road. The replacement line came in yesterday so now I just need to spend 2-3 hours on the car putting it back together.

Re: My New Toy
The car is back on the road, mostly. haha
I replaced the line and put the upper intake back in. The car now really doesn't idle right, the idle sits at between 1500 and 3000. I did drive it to work today to see how it did. The one thing I didn't replace was the intake gasket (I usually do) so I just I just ordered one that will be here on Wednesday. I can pull the intake and swap out the gasket in about an hour.
I do still need to deal with the front struts.

Re: My New Toy
Good grief that idle lol. Hopefully the gasket fixes it now. Maybe one problem was masking another. I hate when that happens lol.
