finally worked up a solution for the speedometer issue. As some of you know the speedo on an FC is cable operated, simple, reliable, no problem. However the speedo on a GM F-body is electronic. Therefore I was unable to retain the factory gauge unless I were to purchace an overpriced converter box to convert the electrical signal to cable drive. So the hunt began for a more economical way to gauge the cars speed. I tossed around the idea of just replacing the whole cluster with one from a Vette but finally stumbled across a write up on how to modify an Integra Speedo to work in the factory mazda cluster. So without further adieu here is the most annoying cluster conversion ive ever done.

step 1... find stupid Integra cluster

This one had a bit more miles than I would like my cluster to say... guess we'll have to change that...

Then it was time to start disassembling the honda cluster

Speedo removed without incident

Time to roll back the miles!!!

After a couple dremel wheels and a massive amount of patience the gauge fit quite nicely

A bit more trimming and presto! It all worked out great!

The finished product works fantastic and is dead on accurate. Unfortunatly the silver face cover didnt fit at all nor did the markings line up in the least bit but if it buggs me ill just find a cover for the teg speedo that matches.

Fits surprisingly well, good job! Would be cool if they matched colors but eh, function over form right?

I'd say those were shot. How does the car feel with a good rack?

I'm sure you will DEFINITELY spin it around the block, in those road conditions haha. Hasn't it cleared up at all?

There is still quite a bit of snow on the side streets Eric. Our street is an ice skating rink and still has a few inches of snow.

mounts worked great but during a heated race with some audi I developed a lifter tick, so I decided to replace the lifters with some upgraded ls7 lifters, Little did I know that in order to replace the lifters I would need to remove the cylinder heads... so it begins.

Step 1 - Aquire ls7 lifters,ls2 lifter trays, Texas Speed 2.5 ls6 cylinder heads (ported/polished, dual springs, larger valves, hardened seats), Comp cam (237/242 .603"/.609" 112lsa), hardened pushrods, ls2 timing chain, ported ls6 oil pump, and all new gaskets.

Step 2 - disassemble motor

Step 3 - disassemble more

so now it sits with the cam replaced and everything cleaned rather nicely. Should have the remaining parts shipped in next week or so then I will post a completed pic.

BTW Ive found the elusive RX7 camshaft nobody can seem to ever find...
