Im debating between KG parts or CJ motorsports for fuel rails.

I usually recommend keeping the 550cc side feed primaries to maintain an acceptable idle. You really only need to replace them if you're looking for major horsepower (600+) or an E85 setup. Plus, it saves you a good chunk of money.

CJ doesn't sell the secondary rail alone that I know of, so for that reason I would vote KG Parts. If you're redoing the whole fuel system and want to replace the primary rail for whatever reason, then CJ rails are nice.

Really, they are just milled pieces of aluminum, not really a performance difference between the two (except the CJ rails have the Tee fitting on them to save you a fitting...)

the biggest reason why im thinking i should be going with cj rails and 1000/2000 or 750/2000 is because my stock 550's are 18 years old. I feel like this is a reliability upgrade.

let me just say that 1000 cc primaries and a large street port makes your car idle almost like its a bridgeport, which is nice sometimes then I think of all the fuel I am burning while idling and I wish I had gone with smaller primaries.

I like the CJ rails just because I feel they mount a little more securely.

eliminster hit the nail on the head. I had 1000cc primaries and a large street port before going with 725cc ID primaries and my car used to sound like a bridgeport quite often. I loved the sound, but it only idled that way because it was drowning in fuel.

Well i have 725cc injector on mine and still get the brap brap. They are not 100% tuned; i think 725 u get the best of both world, you can get the car to idle right and its got the extra fuel for more power.

Haha, alright Eric.

And to JTurton, you can send the 550's out to get cleaned, check out http://witchhunter.com/

Then they are as good as new.

One thing though, once you get them cleaned, make sure you put them in right away and get some fuel through them. I got some injectors from someone that had been cleaned but had been sitting around for a while, and they were stuck closed by the time I got them and tried to use them.

^That is true, same thing happened to a friend of mine. Witch Hunter even recommends using the cleaned injectors within a few days of getting them back to avoid them sticking.

You can also "pulse" the injectors with a car battery and two wires, simply touch them terminals on the injectors quickly to pulse the driver and make sure they work.
