Case angle sensor

Postby Skye's7 » Sun Jan 29, 2012 9:14

Alright, since no one on the rx7club can't answer a simple question without starting a fire, guess I'll try it here. How is the crank angle sensor adjusted? I know there is something involving a timing light and turning of something. What the guy before me discribed was what he called the distributor was replaced by him an set to where the marking was, but needs to be fine tuned. I don't know what to do. Should I just go and open the hood and just lossen the bolt and start turning things? Getting pretty frustrated. And also it's possible a vacuum leak

Remind me which generation? Adjusting the timing is well-doumented in the manual, but if you need some help swing by and I will help you out.

Sounds good don. Only problem the car isn't registered, are you still located near bass pro? It's a 89 gxl

Pretty easy. Just need a timing light, bridge the initial set coupler, or I guess in the case of an S5, ground the initial set coupler, and adjust the CAS to either the red or yellow mark on the Eccentric shaft pulley (depending on leading or trailing wire as reference)

Oh, and you do not "probably" have a vacuum leak. You have multiple vacuum leaks. It's an emission + Rotary thing. :D

Call me crazy - and admittedly I know nothing of the subject - but everything that Pat just explained, sounds as if it could be entered into expert testimony.

G'luck with your issue Skye!

Alright, so adjusting the CAS isn't to bad. The issues now is vacuum lines. So I got an idea of some of the lines but I still really have no idea of which is which
