So tell me this: How does your car battery and what seems alternator die when you use a portable battery charger to charge your battery after your car has been sitting for 2 months? Yeah. My rx-7 doesn't even turn on AT ALL now. NO dashboard lights, no nothing. Anyone have any ideas???
It did however start when we had it for a minute charged to another car via jumper cables. It did a few back fires then completely died. SO that's why I did the portable charger.....

If the battery is completely dead many battery chargers cannot produce enough amps to get the think to start, because its also trying to charge the battery. You can put a good battery on it and see if it starts, or try and charge your battery overnight and if it doesnt take a charge, its likely to need a replacement.

Most batteries can't come back from being run very low. Get a fresh good new battery. If that still doesn't work check main fuses.

@VRx8: It won't crank at all. It's like you don't have a alternative and battery connected.
@Don & Chicken: Yeah. That's what I've been told lately. I'm probably just going to fork out the 80$ or so to buy a new battery. Any recommendations for a "good" battery?

This may sound obvious, but it isn't always. Check and clean the ground connection on the battery and the negative cable for continuity. If it is not making a connection, nothing will work and it will not charge.
Do this before you go spending the money on a new battery. It doesn't cost anything.

you can also pull the battery out and take it to the parts store and they can test it for free.

Good luck on the bypass on your father, Pyrr. I'm driving my RX-7 to and from work this week so I can avoid filling up the mazda 3. I'm usually seen on main street by AT&T.
Pat: It was originally not working properly anyway, per Don previously in posts and per other Pat. I had to take the idle screw ALL the way up (Don't you remember? haha) in order to keep idle....

Car doesn't start again. Battery is nearly 1 month 8 days old. I haven't driven her in 2 weeks - but that SHOULD NOT kill a battery? I have to have AutoZone re charge it, and test it again. I'm thinking since I don't drive the car much and up until I fix the OP gauge, I'm going to unhook the battery once we get this fixed.
My question is, would this be caused by a bad alternator to kill batteries so fast?
