Hello every one my name is connor and i just recently bought an FB(82) and i was told by the previous owner that it has a blown rear apex seal. Now i know that this is one of the number 1 issues with these cars but, I need help trying to get it fixed. I have tried the mech shop route and $3000.00-$6000.00  is way out of my price range and that is what i have been qouted at. So if any one around the thornton, broomfield, northglenn areas could give me some help I would be deeply grateful.

Your best bet is getting a rebuilt or good motor and swapping it out.

LOL that is a ton of work to do that conversion. If you wanted a turbo motor, the easiest way to to get a TII motor.

That 20B will cost you over $10k when it is all said and done. And that is if you can do welding.

i'd be happy to help you restore your 12a (although i have no experience of rebuilding motors, yet) . i'm in the westminster area and be more than happy to give a helping hand

Welcome!

Yeah that 20B would be a major project, not something I'd suggest for someone new to rotaries. Wait, have you ever dealt with rotaries before?

Buy a rebuild kit and the video. Follow it exactly and you shouldnt have any problems. Rebuilds on these engines are pretty simple even for the average joe. You will most likely have to replace the rear housing and rotor. To get hold of one isn't that hard nor expensive.

Atkins and Pineapple both have what you need. Goopy sells fantastic seals and can refinish rotor housings (there is a limit to what they can restore)

and of course Racing Beat

All the best
