So i purchased my car with 12,000 miles on it. at 20k my clutch blew out. i burned up the throw out bearing and the clutch plate itself. Mazda called it a "wear" item so that put my parents in the hole $800 for a new clutch. the main reason im writing this is to see if anyone out there has upgraded their clutch on their mazda 3, because the next time my clutch goes out im gonna tell mazda to F themself and im going to install a stage 1/2 clutch that can actually withstand my style of driving. so let me know what you guys know.

-Brandon im expecting a breath taking response that will blow my mind away.

Stage 1 ORRRRRRRR(JOSH) Stage 2 clutch. they are rated for different types of driving and different horsepower ranges. stage 2 grabs a lot easier and was designed for more strenuous driving that involves DUmping the clutch sometimes, which is what i think i would get.

My clutch went out in 25K. The whole thing turned blue. Looked like someone tossed it in a port-r-potty then put in in my trany. Crazy.

To be completely honest. I HAVE NO IDEA. the person who owned the car before me probably road the clutch a lot. and then when it got to me i just F*ed it up even more. but this was all after i had a new tranny put in at 18k because 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th were grinding, bad syncros. So mazda didnt even check my clutch when they put in a new tranny

Where did you take it because if you got a new trany from Mazda then they had to remove the clutch and put it on the new trany. If that is the case then they did a poor job for not looking into it then.

yeah they didnt even check the clutch when they put it on the tranny so their f*up is 800 dollars out of my pocket.

Man that sucks. You should get a stage 2 clutch for sure. I recommend an ACT

Excellent idea but a stage 2 clutch should still be in the picture ;)
