Check out the difference with the dyno run. 175hp stock at the wheel, 275 with the SC. I only ask now...where's the torque!!
I Really, Really Want This Kit

I wouldn't go with that kit. I wuold spend the extra $2k to get the PTP Turbo kit or Esmeril. They make a lot more power. Forgot exact numbers. Somthing like 320 whp and 220ftlb.
I personaly I'm saveing for the PTP kit. But that's really hard to do since money goes to places where it's needed more. We should start a Greek8/Huzer21/ect... Turbo kit donations. Put cans all over the place and split the money.

the advantage of the pettit racing kit is it is a roots blower so you will have a better low end and no lag.

Yup, that's why I'd be going this way with it rather than PTP.

Looking at the graphs, the Pettit kit has a heckuva flat torque curve. The PTP kit makes the car run out of steam at about 7k, the Pettit keeps on climbing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the PTP kit isn't monstrous for the car, it's just not something I think I need.

Ya, the nice thing about SC is that you have great low end torque because your already boosting at idle. But the torque numbers seem pretty low. The cut off at 7k is a bummer for the PTP kit but i could used to it. My goal is to have a daily driver that cuold beat my bro's vette. He thinks it'll never happen. A 1.3L beat a 383 small block chevy. It's nice that they have a bunch of kits now. Lets everyone choose what'll work for them.

+1
Roots style blower FTW!!
If I owned an RX-8, that's definitely the route I would take.... other than maybe the occasional belt slippage issues, in terms of reliability, I would take a SC over a turbo.... this coming from a guy who's owned 5 turbo cars lol. I really like the powerbands of naturally aspirated cars, which is why I also like roots style blowers, as they typically allow you to keep a somewhat close to stock powerband, just more power and torque lol, and no lag like a turbo car [img]http://coloradomazdaclub.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]

I agree 100%
You have a smoother powerband and the reliability. No added turbo heat to deal with.
