can't speak for the speed3's but in the the 6's there are some vents in the driver's side wheel well which
I covered up when installing my CAI. It has been several months since the install and it is still spanking
new clean....okay enough about me...

It'd be nice to see those guys put together a turbo kit for the 3 and 5 (2.3L).

I would occasionally get a CEL due to moisture on the MAF Sensor in REALLY heavy rains or after using a manual car wash then hitting high rpm's shortly afterwards. After I installed the Hydroshield I haven't had a CEL in the past year. I don't think I was really in danger of doing damage with a little condensation on the MAF and I think if you submerged your CAI it would do nothing to save you but for a little rain and splash water it seems to work great.

You really don't need one. Mist won't really do much to the intake as far as damage goes. The only way you'd be in trouble of every hydrolocking your engine is if you submerged the filter in water. That would take hitting an extremely large puddle, enough to submerge the front bumper or driving into a lake to accomplish.

My AEM CAI came with one and it's not really doing any good. Don't waste your money on it.

I would use one to avoid splash back. Some cars have theirs right out in the open, but otherwise i wouldn't worry about it... but if you have one and you're planning on racing or anything i would take it off.. that was worded horribly but meh i don't really care.
