it does smooth out acceleration, makes a little more snappy. it may be more placebo than there being a big difference. the only grounding kit I've seen that really does anything noticeable is the Buddy Club race spec Condenser.

You may feel more of a difference if your 5 is atx.
IMO, it is worth it if you make the ground wire yourself.

Mating an optimized/port and polished TB with a TB ground will prove more impressive gains.

My response is erratic, esp in 3rd. I'll try a grounding to see what happens. I have a MTX.

Maybe I'll do a data collect now, and one after to compare.

good idea. I added a link for OTB and the How-to on making the TB ground.

good luck.

I bought my wires from a private seller who hand wraps his. and uses gold plated connectors instead of copper.

I did it on my old 3- noticeably smoother off idle... not bad for a <$1 mod! I have not done the 5 though- maybe I'll do that this weekend.

doing a Timing advance with this would add a bit more kick to your 5 too.

You will notice a LOT more with an Auto. I did the advance on my truck and it TOTALLY worth it, but again, its auto.

I have done the TBG and it seemed like it change the shifting a bit. I did it, and didn't tell the wiff, so she thought she was "shifting like shit" for a couple days. If you like the more "race" feel then its enjoyable.... I prefer smoother shifting - less jerky.

I didn't notice any accel difference. On the other hand, turn off the A/C and HOLY CRAP! haha.

Is this something that would help on non mazdas? My wife's saturn L200 has poor trottle response that drives me nuts and her car is an auto. does anyone have pics of where it is grounded?

it's a saturn chris. LOL

I thought this applied to cars with 'drive by the wire' setups. anyone confirm/deny this?

your right, it is only cars with drive by wire. I think the saturn is a cable driven but I will have to look tonight.

Runs from throttle body to ground. If your cable isn't grounded somewhere, it may help. What year is the Saturn?
