Oh snap, would did you do!??

Too bad it's not a rotary, otherwise I could help you (although I've rebuild plenty of motorcycle motors...)

i'll post up a thread here in a while, but i think i might have found a place. an old friend that does amazing work, but mainly v8s and muscle cars and 4x4's said he's willing to work with me and help out as much as he possibly can. i'll keep everyone posted on that in one of the threads.

What's the current tally of 08.5-09's that have blown?

Still no 2010's?

is the whole block destroyed or just a rod? I had a bent rod, cost around 6k to rebuild.

Good luck

I say just get rid of that bitch! Start new, only if it were that simple!
Good luck bro.

So why does a bent rod cost so much to fix? $6,000.00?!... that sounds a little unreasonable.

Because when a rod bends it breaks and puts a hole in the block.

No hole in block...so just machine work and new internals. So should cost considerably less, but we'll see what happens. I have a lot of connections it turns out with places between old friends and family members. I need to make some phone calls today and get some pricing shit figured out and go from there.

How did you catch it before it snapped?

Noticed huge amounts of KR when giving any throttle input, so I just babied it and then it started audibly knocking, so I went as far as I felt safe (basically 5 blocks) and then said fvck it and pulled over and parked.

Yea, good thing you did. I always have my Dashhawk monitoring KR so I would hope I would have done the same thing.

Are you going forged?
