Hypertech Tuning

I just ordered the hypertech tuning device for only $348 /shipped. I also bought 4x Denzo Iridium ITV22 for a +1 step colder plug.
I can't wait to get it installed and see how the car reacts to it.
I don't have a dash hawk, but if anyone wants to do some stop-watch runs before and after, that could be worthwhile AND fun.
Love, peace and kitchen grease.

I love mine. The car runs perfectly with it installed. Now Tut just have to man up and get one.

There are a lot of info on HT on other forums and a lot more people are using it than you think.

You may not need the colder plugs, could lead to issues. I think I remember a thread on 24/7 where the HT people addressed this directly.

I wonder why. 1 step colder plugs are usually better for higher than stock boost. But then I guess that depends on if the car is otherwise stock. May not need them until you get more bolt-ons.

Again if I'm remembering correctly, it is due to the HT tuner not significantly increasing boost or working well with heavily modded cars.

Makes sense. Maybe hold off on putting the plugs on until you see how it runs with just the Hypertech for a while. Then you can try out the plugs and see if you notice a difference and if it runs worse, take the plugs back off.

I have the plugs in my car and it works fine. I had hesitations before HT with my bolt ons with stock boost. I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to put Denzo in with HT. It definitely took care of the hesitations under high boost. HT supposed to increase around 3 psi. I have 0 knock with no hesitation now so I'm guessing it's working OK. I would imagine running stock plugs would be out of the question for me.

The hesitations were probably boost/fuel cuts which any tuning solution should be able to resolve. 0 knock is always a good thing. I have 0 knock until my BATs start climbing above 150*.

I meant that my hesitation went away after I replace my plugs with Denzo, so in my case it was the plugs.
After I put in the TMIC, THEN I got boost cut which is no hesitation at all, it's like someone tap on the brakes. Of course HT took care of that.

Oh, gotcha.

I do get a little load cut when I get on it. Although I haven't in over a month now. My car has the basic bolt-ons: TMIC, CAI, TIP, BPV, TP.
I'll probably call my car good after this tune, then focus on other things...like big shiny chrome wheels. wheeeeeeee!

Has anyone used this sucker on the stock intake? Obviously it would benefit things if more air was being introduced. But would there be any benefit to using the HT otherwise?
From my (limited) research, it seems people may be seeing higher LTFT's with the HT. But your's didn't raise, did they Batman?

LOLZ at this discussion. I ran stock plugs on my practically fully bolted setup running 18 psi and saw no KR. The only reason to run colder plugs is if you can not tune out KR.
Also, Paul, how do you know its load cut?!?! You have no way of logging, so it could be boost, load, fuel (which is my guess). The HT is supposed to get rid of the boost and load cut limits (again...supposed to). Until you can start data logging, this goes for EVERYONE, I wouldn't mess with a tune because you have no idea whats going on with it. There's too many variables that could go wrong which WILL result in zoom zoom boom. So be careful, and be smart about what you're doing.
