Postby GR-8 » Wed May 29, 2013 9:14

Thought I's share and post up some pics. My turbo got back from BNR today. The did a great job. Made a nice bracket for the WG Actuator and gave me a new actuator as well. They cleaned the turbo and it looks like new. Better than when I bought it used. Should be installing it tomorrow after work. Dependimg how tired I am install may stretch into Friday.

BNR's custom compressor wheel upgrade
BNR custom water cooled bearing housing
upgraded thrust bearing assembly
11 blade turbine wheel upgrade
balanced to .5 gram/in2
All new CHRA (center housing rotating assembly)

I remember installing one of those greddy kit on my rx8! Jeez what a pain!

How much HP you can get out of that one?

It's a pain. But I've done it so many times now I'm a pro. BNR says I could probably make 320 before the restrictions of the IC become a problem. I was @ 248 WHP before I returned. 279 WHP on the tune before the turbo blew. That's on a dyno dynamics.

Looking off the dyno sheet TQ is about 220-230. Just estimating that off the graph we didn't print the exact numbers for TQ. I was pushing 15psi.

So far I got the exhaust off and everything upstairs taken apart. Just need to pull the exhaust manifold tomorrow and run the coolant lines for the turbo then pit it all back together. I started almost at 9 tomight.

Tomorrow will be fun. I have to go to the body shop and swap mufflers and the straight pipe out of the Grey one right after work. Will be in the garage all day after 5. Hopefully it all goes smooth putting the turbo and mani back on. That takes the longest.
