At this point, I haven't heard good results for any Air Intake for the RX-8. The best ones I've heard of thus far are the RB and the HKS. In general, an intake swap tends to be a "noise" mod. Same seems to be true with a cat-back, although mated with a good midpipe or high flow cat, there are gains to be found there.

Manifolds/headers. RB is still working on a header, and that may be ready by summer. Rotary Performance has a high flow cat that I may be going with down the road.

I know if I'm looking for large power, it'll have to go FI.[/b]

I hear ya man, most intakes on Subaru's aren't worth much either, or if they gain a few ponies just due to the fact they change the size of the MAF housing to lean the AFR's out. On a close to stock WRX/STI, tuning with an intake, is usually only good for around 1-3whp over the stock airbox... but as power increases, the stock airbox becomes more of a restriction.

An intake on an RX-8 probably won't do much, although you might be able to eek out a couple extra ponies after tuning for it. Who knows?!?

Finally downloaded the AP Manager software and downloaded the maps to my PC. (There are 10 maps on the AP currently, most are stock maps). A couple of fun ones...the anti theft mode, which sets the rev limited to 100 RPM...the car then dies. The valet mode limits RPM to 3600.

This is a pretty slick little unit.

Woot! That was fast, I sent the AP back on Saturday, Cobb called me today to verify my address, and the AP is heading back my way.

Sent it back so they could take it out of beta mode, according to Trey. They're also going to give me all of the nice happy retail packaging, too, since I didn't have that. Not sure if any other features were added or taken away...I'll report that when I get it back.

Yeah, I was playing with the V1's map swapping feature tonight... it's badass!! The CD it came with has a TON of maps, for pretty much all year & model Subaru, to include at least 20 maps specifically for my '06 STI, very cool little toys :)

Cobb released a firmware update, although no new maps. The fuel economy monitor works now, so I can see I'm getting about 16.2 MPG city. They fixed a couple of other bugs as well. Make sure you update your AP Manager software first, otherwise you'll have communication issues after you upgrade the firmware.

Methlab- Cobb hasn't released the AP for the MS3, yet. It should be out in the next 2 weeks, but thats what they said 2 weeks ago....

Beta testing is going on for the Speed3, so I'd say probably 3 to 4 weeks out at this point, if it roughly follows the schedule of the RX-8 AP.

From what I've read beta testing was started in early April for the Speed3, it appears it's taking a bit longer than some of the other AP's.

Wow...that was quick. I'll have to install that this morning.

Edit: Well, it installs a-ok. The added features aren't something that I needed, so I doubt I'll really check em out.
