So yesterday I was turning into the parking lot of Petco/Toy's R Us (across from Park Meadows) and found this beaut:
I tried to miss the damn thing, but couldn't. My front right tire smacked right into the upper most 'crevice' above. The photo may not do the hole justice, but is was pretty brutal.
Anyway, right afterwards I got this 'ticking' coming from the engine bay...like a diesel ticks. I pulled over, checked the suspension, tire, etc. but nothing. When I revved the engine, the ticking went faster; but I couldn't see anything around the belt. It seemed to be coming from the area of the alternator. Later on, the noise went away and hasn't come back.
I know, problem solved- but are there any suggestions as to what the noise could have been? Or if I need to check anything?
Thanks-
What could it be?
