My Brake Plans

Well, now that we're coming out of our summer financial crisis (thanks, Villasport and Phil Long...NOT!), I am starting to plan out my brake job for the September timeframe. Here's what I'm planning, with all of this coming from Raceshopper.com, assuming they'll price match the Hawk pads that I found cheaper elsewhere:

Signature Series Plant Front Rotors: $136.00
Hawk HPS Fronts: $68.00
Hawk HPS Rears: $53.00
Technafit SS Lines: $89.00
Machine rear OEM rotors: $16.00 (base auto hobby shop)
Superblue brake fluid (if compatible, from Amazon): $13.99

All total, around $400 spent over time rather than the $700 Just Brakes wanted for lower quality stuff.

Whatcha all think? I'll go slotted rotors later, when the rears need replaced.

So why the Technafit lines instead of a better known brand like Goodridge?

Didn't know others were out there. All I found were Corksport and Technafit. Did you mean Goodrich?

Nope, it's Goodridge. Not sure if they make any for the 6, but I had a set on the RX8. I got a crazy deal ($30) from some website closeout, so I bought a couple of sets and sold 'em for a small profit. :D

I just put Hawk HPS Fronts on my Speed 3, took a few days to get used to but I think they are slightly better than stock pads.

Sounds like a good setup.

LOL I'll check and see if they make them for my car. Thanks!

I've heard the initial bite isn't as good, but once warmed up they're awesome, and they make less dust than stock.

Thanks! And I like that I'll be doing them myself...then I KNOW what's going on there.

Another good place to buy stock rotors is rockauto.com
